Umass Worcester fall 2018 GEP
Oh I see- I didn't know that. So that would be this Thursday the 8th. It's just confusing since we are all being told different things and one person here did get a call already. I guess it depends on a variety of things. I'm trying not to lose hope quite yet- did you try calling them about it?

Regis College Fall 2018
Thanks for your help! I also am in the same boat. I put down half of the deposit already, which is so expensive as it is. I am not ready to spend another $1000, when I'm hearing back from other schools. I'm waiting a few days to hear back from my top choice school, and if all goes well, will also tell Regis that I will no longer be attending..

Northeastern Direct Entry 2018
Hi guys- I just had my phone interview for the FNP track. The interviewer was very nice and overall it was pretty informal! She only asked me a few questions, one of them being what interested me in applying to the program. The rest of the interview was just me asking questions and us conversing. She said I should be hearing from the program director relatively soon! Good luck to everyone!

Question for current students- I know the program is overall very intensive, could you elaborate on that? I am thinking of keeping a per diem position to pick up shifts once in a while. Are weekends spent mostly studying, etc? Does the workload/intensity lighten a bit after the RN portion is complete? Is there the option to attend class part time afterwards? Sorry to bombard you with questions, but any answers are appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!

Umass Worcester fall 2018 GEP
I know this is a very basic question, but just to clarify- only the doctorate degree is awarded at the end of the program (not the bachelors or masters in nursing), correct? And certificates are granted in order to take the boards? I was wondering if there was any disadvantage to this when applying to jobs? What are the advantages? If someone has any idea, please let me know as I am deciding between this program and another one.. thank you!

Umass Worcester fall 2018 GEP
Thanks FinallyANurse89! I actually landed an interview for January 25th! I work at the hospital, so I just went down to the GEP office and asked about the status of my application. They were really nice about it. I wonder when they were planning on giving me a call, if I had not asked lol. Any tips for the interview/what should I expect? I heard that you meet with a student and get a tour of the school?

Regis College Fall 2018
Yes, I just emailed the counselor and he was happy to meet with me. The students were done with finals so campus was pretty empty so it was easy to get a chance to talk to everybody. I did apply to UMass Worcester as well, I have been posting on that thread too. I don't know it off hand, but I think in the FAQ it says that most students come out with $86,000 in debt?

Regis College Fall 2018
This is the "sample" schedule I received from the admissions counselor. He said it is subject to change next semester, but its still nice to have some sort of idea! Monday: 8a-12pm (NU 624: Prof. Nursing), 2-4:30pm (NU 619: Clinical Pharmacology), 5-6pm (NU 624 Math Class) Tuesday: 9a-10:30a, 10:30a-12pm (NU Health Assessment 304-02); Labs 10:30-12pm, 12-3pm (NU Health Assessment Lab NU 304 x-01 ) Wednesday: 7-10a; 10-1pm (Simulation Labs) ; 3-6pm 11-3PM (Prof. Nursing: NU 624) Thursday: 7a-3pm; Possible Clinical Day Friday: 7a-3pm; Possible Clinical Day I hope this is easy to follow- it was a bit hard to type out. I listed the course names and numbers too. On the school website they have the curriculum plan if you want to look at that too. From my understanding we only have one clinical day, either on Thursday or Friday.

Regis College Fall 2018
Hey everyone- Today I traveled out to Regis for an appointment with the admissions counselor and received a little tour of the campus. I also met with someone from housing, looked at a dorm, and spoke with financial aid. I got a very nice impression of the staff and the campus has that small community feel. Apparently the cohort is 36 students and we take exams on ipads lol. Tuition costs for the whole program is around $143,000 which is pretty expensive. The clinical placements look awesome and I have been hearing that it's a strong program. I also received a rough outline to what a day to day schedule would like if anyone wants me to share. Overall, the visit was very informative. I am going to place my first deposit at the end of this month. I am committed to Regis unless I hear back from UMass, which would be significantly more affordable. Just trying to figure out loans and whatnot since there is less financial aid for grad students. Any updates from you guys?
