  1. Oh yeah that's similar to what someone else suggested to do split shift. I'm going to give that a try too, thank you :)
  2. Well not quite because not all churches agree with each other. My church isn't the only one that thinks other churches are false. There's an abundance of different religions but what people believe in as their higher power is up to them. But you're not wrong, birds of feather, flock together. So yes. What I believe in is not what you believe in. I, personally, do not think I'm greater than you. And if my church found out I wasn't on their side, they wouldn't kick me out so fast as you say, they would ask me why I think the way I do and how they could help. I didn't mean for this post to turn into a religion battle. I spilled out what I needed and tried to get advice. If I miss a service, I won't be kicked out. I won't go to Hell. I'll just feel heartbroken on my end. I am thankful for everyone's advice and I've already taken some of them and they actually helped me fix my schedule for the most part.
  3. Because we're all human on this earth. All people in each religion sin right? So regardless of if they go to church everyday or just once a month they're still human. I don't know your religion background or if you believe in God. I'm not going to judge you for what you believe. I'll judge you on how you treat me or other people or even how you respect yourself.
  4. Well I didn't ask for any sympathy. But it is true that not all church are the same and that's just it. I am a member of a church but I don't think less of anybody else's church or religion. Yeah it basically translates to "my church is better than yours" but you can't judge the person based on where they go to church. Just like any church, there's good apples and bad apples. I'm human and I make mistakes. I'm just trying my best to work and go to church to the best of my abilities and I understand that it won't always go my way.
  5. Good question, that actually happened to one of our head deacons. He had a PE and he was in the ICU and was inubated and unconscious. So there's nothing he could have done in his power. If there was a way to somehow bring him, it wouldn't technically count because yes, he's physically there but mentally he's not. Of course since he wasn't there for some worship services, he wasn't able to perform as Head Deacon. He recovered and he's alive and well. *off topic* He lost vision in his left eye but CT and MRI show no signs of stroke and there's no evidence of a clot in his eye. Anyone have an idea what it could be?
  6. No I've accepted them and I appreciate all of them but I want to see if there's anything else that anyone has done from their experience. If that's all the advice then I'll take them. It's really black and white what I should do. I just like hearing all the possibilities :)
  7. Well obviously I came here for advice to not be deceitful hahaha
  8. I understand that it is something you've never heard of. I belong to a specific church and I can't attend just any church because we believe not all churches are the same. So let's leave it at that. I'm asking advice on how to balance work and church. I'm not going to change which church I'm going to, I'm not going to change what I believe. And that's that. The advice I've received was to wait till I'm settled to change my schedule around, which shifts and find another job that accommodates me. Other than that, is there anything else? I'm just looking for advice, not advice on religion and that Jesus Christ and God are forgiving. I'm completely aware of it. If anyone is curious about my church, you can visit incmedia.org but please visit with an open mind and heart :) I'm not trying to promote or convert but I know a lot of people won't exactly understand my point of view. Don't bump it until you try ❤️
  9. I do understand your point. It is a requirement for my church to attend a weekday and weekend service. I also know that attending service is not the only way to serve God because faith without works is dead. I know it may all seem unusual and just unrealistic especially with the field I chose to be in. We are taught to respect our patient's beliefs no matter how unusual. Just how patients will not accept blood products even if they need it to live. I wish we had that same outlook on our other healthcare workers. I do understand that WE ARE NOT THE PATIENT AND WE ARE THE ONES PROVIDING CARE. As much as I wish, my duty as a nurse does not replace my service to God. I have no desire to quit all the hard work I put in to being a nurse. I love being a nurse. I know it may seem like im just being hardheaded and hopefully nobody thinks im attacking what they believe because i respect all of your advice and I respect what you believe in.
  10. I attend in the Church of Christ and it is nondenominational. Our church is pretty small right now so we have service on Wednesday and Sunday Morning. It's really hard for me because I'm a choir member and I help teach the children in my church. Thank you so much for your advice, I'll try speaking with them and see what else I can do. I don't mind working all Saturdays only if I'm able to attend worship service.
  11. Thank you so much for responding! And yes spoke with HR before I even accepted it job and I asked if on Sunday's I could work nights and the HR lady said it was no problem at all. I understand HR isn't the one who works on the unit and scheduler. I have to work 2 weekends a month and I don't have a problem with Saturdays. My church is the biggest part of my life and it was hard for me to get this job. And I do understand that I won't get everything that I want and I don't think I should have priority over those who have more experience than me. I just want to see if there's anything else I can do.
  12. I just BARELY started working as an RN. When I mean barely, I mean I'm still in orientation and will officially start working with a preceptor on 8/7. My issue is that I won't be able to attend church service on Sunday mornings. I know to some it may be unusual but I have never missed a church service and I feel heartbroken that I might have to. I am working 7A to 7P and I told the manager that I can work sundays, just not 7A to 7P. I can do 7P to 7A but the manager said that's not allowed. I do understand what I got myself into and I know patient care is 24/7. But what can I do or what advice can anyone give me?
