  1. Need help on this question...

I take my Excelsior NC 2 test tomorrow and I can't seem to find a straight answer to this question... What is the enema of choice to use on an infant? Such as tap water, normal saline etc. I'm totally confused by this cause I've seen both answers ...
  2. Need help on this question...

Actually, I found the answer. I am reviewing another pre test but this one is from Excelsior's website so its gotta be right. The answer is normal saline because tap water can cause a rapid fluid shift and fluid overload since it is hypotonic. Than...
  3. Need help on this question...

Unfortunately you know these little pre exam tests you take to use as study material doesn't say how small of an infant. Is there a difference for what you would use for an infant /child/toddler?
  4. Need Advice Desperately!!!

I'm currently enrolled in Excelsior's nursing program. I've only taken 1 exam in 18 months and I'm not doing very well keeping up with getting the nursing sequence done. My problem is that I'm not disciplined enough to study on my own and the CPNE ...
  5. Need Advice Desperately!!!

NascarNurse, Where did you take the CPNE? Do you think it matters where to take it? I have read on this site and the yahoogroups that some places are great and wonderful, such as you said, and the other places were absolutly horrible and very scare...

WOW, thanks for such great encouragement. I got the goose bumps (which are a good thing) reading your last sentence. I hope I can be as happy as you are with my decision. If I need any help, do you mind if I call on you for extra support or an ex...
  7. Need Advice Desperately!!!

I do have all my pre -req's. I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I only need my nursing concepts 1-7 and the CPNE, and I think that is what I'm afraid of most (The CPNE). If you read the post after yours from another member the cost of the CPNE i...
  8. Need Advice Desperately!!!

No, I haven't invested alot of money in Excelsior, maybe $800-$1000, but not like thousands. I'm just not sure I want to put myself through Excelsior's program. Does anyone on here think one program is better than another?
  9. Study Skills

WELL.... I actually passed with a C but it was my third time taking it. I had signed up twice before and with drew before I failed. I wish now I had studied more cause the stuff is very interesting. It's amazing all the "bugs" we have around us th...

  13. MD Hospitals paying for Nursing Education.

BWMC (formerly North Arundel Hospital) in Anne Arundel County, Glen Burnie pays for your nursing education and then you must work for them for like 2 yrs as an RN to repay them back. Then you are free to go somewhere else if you so desire. I'm doin...

I have all the pre req's done, just need to take info literacy and the exams for nursing concepts. Micro is done, thank goodness. I get all my study guides from excelsior's website and I don't have to pay for them. Maybe what you paid for is fanci...

  16. Study Skills

Well I haven't been studying lately hence the reason I have taken any exams recently (I'm enrolled in Excelsior college, so you take the exams when you are ready). I think it's been a year since the first exam I took. I'm not good with studying by my...
  17. Got any funny acronyms at your ER???

OK guys and gals, but I had to share one... Sorry if it's a repeat, but I couldn't read through all of these. Whenever we have to assist the doctor with a pelvic exam we say we are going to "Busch Gardens". :rotfl:
  18. Full Moon

YES, it is totally true about the ER being extra crazy with psych patients on the nights that there are full moons. I work at one part time and it is amazing the difference in patients that come in. And this goes for psych patients as well as regul...

  21. RN students can sit for LPN????

I went through the first year of the RN program and then took an LPN class over the summer (approx 2 months long). I was done at the beginning of July and passed my LPN boards on July 29th. I'm in the state of MD. Hope this helps some.
