Does anyone know a professional Liability Insurance carrier that will insure a registered nurse that has been disciplined by state nursing board but has recently been reinstated?

I didn't think the fact that someone has been disciplined made a difference.

Oh yes I have checked...exponet iona llc more expensive, even when one is finished wire probation, unencumbered or fully reinstated. We remain a liability forever...never fully forgiven... í ½í¸§
Yes, it makes a big difference, while most carriers annual premium for professional liability is around $110, for most nurses that have been disciplined by nursing board the annual premium is around $2,000 - $5,000, if you can find a carrier that will insure you. NSO and Proliability stated that they do not insure nurses that have been disciplined.
After over a month of searching finally found a carrier, Pearl, that will insure at a cost of $2,000. Another carrier wanted $5000. And one other for $2500. The good is that they are allowing me to pay $800 down and the rest in 8 monthly installments at 10% finance.

Good for you, #RickCarter. I am often asked to help find an insurer if for nurses with a licensure sanction or a paid malpractice claim on their record, and you pretty much have to go to the non-standard market and will be paying a bunch. Now mind you, it is still excess coverage over the coverage you have from your employer, so if you are the typical nurse who is employed by someone, you really have to ask yourself if it is worth it.

Hmm...one paid malpractice case doesn't necessarily bump you from NSO.

I believe it is IMPERATIVE that each nurse should have their own personal Liability Policy. The reason being that if the excrement hits the proverbial fan, the employer will have no problem throwing you under the bus first.
So suck up the cost and know you'll have a little more protection and hopefully some peace of mind.
Good luck, Rick

Hi,
I am an LPN who has been disciplined and currently on probation. I also need to find malpractice insurance. Just wondering if anyone can help.

Yes, it is worth it. In the event your employer is the one causing you problem...
