Does any other ADN program out there have problems with their unit exam questions?
Like most schools, our exams are 50 questions but when we sit down for the exam review, they tell us they threw out X amount of questions since they felt that we are not expected to know that information...EVERY TEST we have had this semester has been like this were the instructor will throw out 3 or 4 questions or even better we catch them in mistakes. For example, they chose A as the answer and it was actually D, if it weren't for those reviews those questions would go unnoticed and we would not receive credit for it.
You try to send the Dean of Nursing an email telling her why doent the faculty review the exams prior to administering them but she doesnt reply. You send the Dean of the College an email and he tells you to talk with the Dean of Nursing. Who do you go to then???

Good thing they're teaching you enough to be able to pick up on their wrong answers!!
I hope you get whatever answer you're searching for. I'm interested in hearing what your Dean has to say.

Sometimes when you write a question, it is very obvious to you what you meant; but when others look at it from a different perspective the flaws become apparent. Writing good questions is difficult. The NCLEX has people who do nothing but write and review questions for different points of view, cultural bias, misleading info, etc.
A instead of D could have been a typo on the key.
If the school is willing to admit questions aren't perfect and take steps to correct it, why are so you up in arms about it? I'd be more concerned if they were unwilling to dump questions that showed you weren't ready for it.
Test writers, instructors and professors are not perfect (GASP!)

you are lucky they throw them out for you... at our exam reviews we are not allowed to argue why we think their answer is wrong, even if the entire class got the question wrong..
