I am in a similiar situation. I got arrested 3/23/21.DUI. I was working during Covid developed insomnia. My MD trying different meds . Driving to get chamomile tea. Hit a sign. Got booked in at police station then went home.
went to court in June no case found.
DA filed the case in November 2021 court 12/21.
Reduced to dry wreckless.
Got an accusation CABRN 12/23.
Probation started 9/2024 3 years .
I am 68 and am not sure I want to go through the next 3 years with someone else controlling my life.
I worked at same hospital 30 years .
21 RN
9 RRT.
I feel terrible leaving a profession I love with a revoked license.
But will it matter 6 months from now?
I retired from my hospital in 2022.
I start doing CCT in 2023 but cannot do that on probation.
I have to work 6 months as a RN out of 3 years probation.
I have spoken with my probation monitor and really like her. I plan to call her tomorrow and discuss my options if I decide not to do this.
I hate to say at my age!
But at 68 age is a factor.
I love working and I look 49 feel 39 so I really am not sure but am so happy to have found this site.
It was reduced to dry wreckless and I did MADD program( watched a film)
MACC program weekly group meetings I think it was 6 weeks.
probation for 1 year.
All terms completed.
it is so expensive
probation RN pays $100 urine drug screen each test can be 1 time can be 4 times a week
random
I also will pay for a mental health evaluation and physical exam and any kind of treatment recommended by Dr.
it has to be a md approved by the BRN
1st visit and form filling $1k
its overwhelming .
I always get these email updates for jobs .
so I have compiled a letter stating I am probation and what their responsibility as my employer will look like.
I want to get that out of the way first.
it is set up as a size fits all .
so all the nurses in my group are all on probation for different reasons .
diverting drugs , 3 x etoh blood level . We all have the similiar requirements .
I am going to talk to my monitor.
I have been so sick the last 2 weeks I have only gotten out of bed to test.
I am going to ask for an extension on a couple things and see what happens.
if it is a form of punishment no one will be as hard on me as I am on myself.
ty
I wish I could give a clearcut answer but apply anywhere you can: SNF, dialysis, psych. As long as you communicate with your probation monitor and the assigned nurse educator it should be pretty quick. whenever I had to make modifications to my work performance evals and such they approved it within 2 weeks.

Hello I recently received my appeal paperwork from the boards of nursing , they granted my license but how ever put me on probation for 3 years , I just needed a little clarification if anyone has been in my shoes , how long does it take to actually start working after receiving the paperwork, and is it hard to find work with being on probation? And when should I start applying for work , cause I'm seeing employment has to be approved by probation before starting and I'm just like how is that possible please can someone help me out here.
