Hi. The school I applied to makes you take a compass test (math and reading) for admission. They don't go off of gpa or anything like that just these test scores for admission. A perfect score is 198 and I got a 196 so I was thinking that was really good. Last month I called the school to talk to them about my score and the lady said that my scores were good and I shouldn't worry about it. Today I had an appt with an advisor and she said 50 people go a perfect score and the program has 120 spots. So now I'm feeling really discouraged because I don't think my score is good enough. I'm just disappointed because I really wanted to get in and now I don't know what to do....
50 people got a perfect score, but that's only fifty out of 120. I still think you have an excellent shot. Did the advisor give you any reason to think that your score wasn't going to make the cut? Until you find out don't think negative, only good thoughts! I know that you're stressing, seems like we all are right now, but everyone is here for you. Stay strong, your scores are wonderful.:icon_hug:
I agree don't get discouraged. Think good things and block the negative out it is actually healthier anyway i think. If you haven't got a NO letter yet then keep your head up the answer you want will come;) . That was a really good score like you said 120 spots, 50 perfect, maybe the rest(including you) not perfect but pretty darn close, close enough to get in.
Yeah, don't get discouraged. The program I got into told me on 3 separate occasions "You can apply if you want to, but your application will be considered a long shot and be looked at after everybody else's", and I almost didn't apply because of that. Like someone else said, don't think you've been rejected until you read it in print. I think you still have a good shot. Good luck!
What do you do? DO NOT GIVE UP!
Do not give up hope until you receive your letter, and if it's a denial, do not give up hope until the second day of class!!!
IF YOU REALLY WANT THIS, AND YOU DO GET DENIED, DO NOT GIVE UP!!!! Try again next time!
That said, I really think you are freaking out a little early. Yes, it's understandable, but try not to get discouraged. You still have a GREAT chance to be accepted!!!
I hope to see great news from you soon! Good luck, and best wishes!! :balloons:
