Private Practice RN

Hello,

I am looking for input/feedback/advice. I would like to begin offering consulting/advocacy/educational services for the Maternal/Child Health Population of patients. I am a RN in PA and was curious on your thoughts. Are there any restrictions to this scope of practice?

Thank you!

Kristie :)

No specific advice, but I admire your goal. I would discuss this with your BON.

I would also consider your malpractice insurer and wonder if you would need to be a provider, in order to reach that goal.

How would you bill for your services?

How would your services differ from those of a midwife or doula?

What would this look like?

Hoping that OP will come back to elaborate.

Assuming you have worked out what you need to bill for your services to generate the income that makes sense for you -- including all tax liabilities and other aspects of being self-employed -- what patient population do you consider to be your target market?

Helllooooo! OP! Where did you go?

Post-and-runs make the Baby Jesus sad. :(
