Private nursing schools in Phoenix

Hello, I moved to Phoenix to enroll into a nursing program as soon as I can. Does anyone have any suggestions on schools I can get into a little more quickly. I see some programs at community colleges but it seems like they take a awhile to get into. I would like to hopefully enroll into a private program but I can't seem to find one. Any suggestions?

Just FYI-As far as being regionally accredited goes, if you do your ADN first, and pass the NCLEX-RN, you will be an RN...then bridge into an RN TO BSN program to get your bachelors..the only thing they look at is that you HAVE your RN...not neccessarily the school you got it at. What time is the info session tomorrow at Carrington? Haven't been there yet LOL

It's at noon. I'm so confused about accreditation now. I've been reading that it might be hard to get hired in other states if the school isn't NLN accredited. I plan on returning to California after and some posts talk about BRN accreditation mattering more. Oye!

I currently attend Carrington and I do recommend it! I just started ob and peds - semester 4. Honestly, I love this school. Love the teachers, love my classmates, love the clinical sites.

Here's the reply I received back from Carrington regarding the NLN:

August 2, 2011

Dear Students or Graduates:

Carrington College’s Westside campus submitted a request to seek initial programmatic accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) for its associate degree program in Registered Nursing. We recently hosted visits from both the Arizona State Board of Nursing and NLNAC. The college is voluntarily seeking programmatic accreditation from NLNAC as part of our commitment to program quality and student outcomes. Carrington College maintains its institutional accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS, http://www.acics.org).

The Arizona State Board of Nursing determined that the program continues to meet its requirements, and graduates remain eligible for licensure. The NLNAC site visit team issued the program a favorable review, but the NLNAC staff and Commission determined that the program does not fully satisfy the criteria for accreditation at this time. NLNAC provided specific recommendations, which we have reviewed and are now implementing. The program currently remains in candidacy status, and we plan to submit additional materials reflecting these adjustments. Future accreditation is not guaranteed; if it is attained, it will be effective as of the date of the next site visit.

Thanks everyone for the information. I am in the processing of finding a school I'd like to attend and this has been really useful information. I am attending the info session at Carrington on Monday and have been to Brown Mackie already. I plan to look at Everest (which I've heard good things about) and PMI. From the looks of what I've seen so far, Carrington appears to be a good choice. I like that it is under the DeVry umbrella, there are schools everywhere and credits transfer as well.

What entrance exam does carrington use and are there prerequisite classes hybrid. Has anybody know anything about Everest nursing school?

I actually met with them yesterday! It sounded like a good program. I'm still shopping around. I have an appointment today with Brookline. Then later this week with Brown Mackie and Carrington. I just wanna compare pricg and start dates. Thanks for the response though! It would be cool if we ended up classmates

which school did you like better and why?

Nope, steer clear of GCU. Business practices are super shady and they will find a way to get money from you. Also, unless you're a current student there, you basically have no chance of getting in. Plus, they're in hot water with the AZ Board of Nursing - might lose their accreditation.

It's a 1-16 credit tier 2 and 24 credit tier 1 completdo with them, correct?
