I absolutely feel for you ... I"m old school and was one of the first to take it on the computer. Back then we didn't freak out or leastwise there didn't seem to be this total need to get all kinds of study guides and ancillary courses just to take the boards. I feel sorry for the new grads theses days as it shouldn't be such a test of stress as opposed to one of knowledge. I don't know what happened between then and now but it seems lately all I read is how "prepared" one must be. I must have went to the best nursing program on earth because I didn't do any of that stuff. I decided if I didn't learn it in school then tough. I passed the first time.
Good luck to all.

I definately felt the pressure---some of it self-imposed, but not all of it. In the end my graduating class had 100% pass rate--we ALL passed on our first try! YIKES, if I had been the "one" that muffed it up, I would have been VERY disappointed =(

My new job in ICU was dependent on passing the NCLEX first time. No pass, no job. After I'd put in my notice on my old job...oy vey, as my aunt says. First one to take the test in my class, a lot of people saying, "well, she was an LPN first she's going to do better/worse because of that." I literally came out of the testing center, went over to my car, and threw up.
Passed, 75 questions. Not looking forward to doing this again when I go for the NP....

oh, good grief, go look up the passing rates for the nclex. so many people think it must be so hard it's, like, only 45% of people pass it or something. no, it's double that, and more than that for many schools, maybe including yours. you think your faculty were total fools who would let any old doofus slide on through and graduate? not so much, eh?
there now, snowflake-- feel better?

agreed. my school so far has a 100% pass rate for the nclex. :) we didn't take extra courses or do all these test bank questions or anything. i never knew anything about those things til i was on this site. i wasted some money on a couple of nclex prep books. i never had the attention span to study from them. most of my class took the nclex at the first available appts. the nclex was so much easier than i had imagined. i wish i wouldn't have stressed so much over taking the test.
