Present Starting Salary for Christiana Care RN

Published

Hi everyone,

I'll be finishing up nursing school within the next year & I'm trying to land a job as a PCT or safety companion while I finish. I'm hoping to start off on a med surg floor at Christiana Care either with Christiana hospital or Wilmington once I pass the NCLEX but I was wondering how much the starting pay there is for a new grad. The other posts that talk about it are years old and I'm sure it's changed by now.

I know it's a bit early and I don't have a job locked in, but I just want to get an idea of the starting pay. I'm really determined to work there because I loved the atmosphere during clinicals. Any updated info would be helpful; thanks!

Specializes in Aesthetics, Med/Surg, Outpatient.

About $26 at CC. If you are having a hard time getting in, try Select Specialty or Maxim (they hire new grads and pay pretty decent)

Thank You, I have one year left at DelTech so I've been trying to get in there. I really don't want to work in homehealth right out of school. I want to get on a medsurg floor and build my skills a bit before I venture off elsewhere.

I may try to get licensed in PA as well and all ply to hospitals there if I can't get into to Christiana

Hey I may be a little late responding back to you, but I just recently graduated Deltech in May 2017 and was hired at CC the day before my graduation! Im doing one of the residency programs. You should definitely try applying to one of those right out of college. I am excited to start in July. The starting pay is about $29 an hour. Good luck on finishing nursing school and good luck on your NCLEX!

Did you get pay while doing the nurse residency after graduation?

Specializes in Progressive Care, Sub-Acute, Hospice, Geriatrics.

I was offered 34/ hr for a 3 year experience nurse
