I realized the issue at about 5 months post-op.
I got myself onto Suboxone, and did that for three years, but cold NOT get off it.
FINALLY.... I paid $8000. to a clinic in mexico for detox (Ibogaine) I stopped suboxone at 1/16 a tab per week over 49 weeks, MAJOR issues.....
3 Ibogaine- I left two days later, totally fine.

Is there a question you're asking? Are you giving us information on what happened to you? I'm confused!
I'm glad you're doing well.
No question, just pointing out that we are all vulnerable. I can honestly say I NEVER intended to bece addicted to optiates (percocet, ALWAYS obtained via pharmacy/MD-NP script.)
1. I could have had a rough 3-5 days if I chose to stop opiates alone
2. Suboxone got rid of that 3-5 days, but then I became addicted to Subox, which is synthetic, and does not like to exit your system quietly. Detox 49 weeks at home alone (24 mg daily, decreased by about one tiny unnoticable to the eye chip of the tablet- I NOTICED.By the week before I was to go, I had to be off SUB for 10 days, and back on opiates
3. 3 pills- DONE
Opiate cost: $600 over several months (I have insurance)
Suboxone cost $400 week for 6 weeks, $400 e/o week for 6 weeks, $400 e/3 week for 6 weeks, $400 q/month for 8 weeks, plus prepay urines- total $8,000 Then I let my insurance pay.
Ibogaine, 8000$
I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY NURSE THAT HAS DONE THIS

You are absolutely not the only nurse. Thank you for sharing your journey. There is a forum here for nurses in recovery that you may find great support in. Good luck on your journey!

Just goes to prove no one knows what addiction they may have lurking in their system until it raises its ugly head. It does not discriminate and DOC doesn't matter, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, shopping you get the point we seek pleasure to fill a void. Hope life goes well for you.
