Prerequisites Advice!!!!

Published

Hi, im a new member to this website! I usually search for all my questions and answers on her about nursing prerequisites and actual nursing school as well as everything in between. I am going for my BSN at hopefully Texas State University! But as of now im taking prerequisites at ACC.

So my question is would it be smart to take Human Anatomy, Microbiology, Human Nutrition, and Human Growth and Development together?

This would be my third semester in college. My first two semesters I took a total of 6 classes and one of which was a biology course. It was pretty tough but I made an A. I know I can definitely do well in Anatomy and Micro as long as I study my butt off but im having trouble deciding if I should pack one more class or two more classes on top of that!

This is my first post btw! So if I did something wrong or if there is another thread on this subject feel free to let me know! Thanks for reading!

If it were me, I would take A&P and Micro together (which I did last semester) and then do Nutrition and Development together.

Micro and Anatomy both are a lot of information and a lot of work. I can't imagine having a 3rd class, but I also have 3 kids and am more or less a single parent since my husband works out of state. I wouldn't have been able to handle it.

Maybe you could do history or English, if you want to add another class. I think all 4 of those at once would be too much, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with Anatomy and Micro together. Is is possible to take human development online? If so, I would add that as well, but if you must take it on campus I would keep it at just the 2 science classes.

Let me start by saying that you are a trooper for wanting to take on all those classes at once! My only advice is make sure if you do take those all together to have really good time management, mainly because it will be alot of information to have to memorize, but if thats your strong suit then go for it! I am also currently doing my pre-recs, and just like you wanting to get them done and out of the way for the good stuff. I also agree with the previous poster that some classes taken together in the same semester go smoother mainly because the information pertains to the same category.

I took A&P 2, micro and Human growth and development together. It was fine. I had taken nutrition before that. I found nutrition to be a very easy class.

Last semester I took a&p2 + lab, micro + lab, human development, and history. It was difficult. I was really just burned out by the end. But I got all As and one B. Had I just put a little more effort into it I could have had all As. Definitely doable ... Just be prepared to work!

I took a&p 1 with microbiology, nutrition, and college algebra. It was tough but I managed all As except algebra, my weakness. Human growth & development I found easy but I have two kids and I have read so many parenting books that it was a breeze for me. If you took psychology then it should be a breeze. Alot is repeat, in my opinion.
