  1. Are you serious?
  2. I learned the bones in like two days by playing "Give Me Some Bones" by Lisa Bromfield over and over and over! lol It worked! She has a lot of songs but this is the only one I ever used. Good luck!
  3. Last semester I took a&p2 + lab, micro + lab, human development, and history. It was difficult. I was really just burned out by the end. But I got all As and one B. Had I just put a little more effort into it I could have had all As. Definitely doable ... Just be prepared to work!
  4. Can I second this! It clearly doesn't sound like a big deal to you but this is wrong. If things are truly how you say they are, attention needs to be brought to the situation. Things like this happen and continue because people allow it. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" -Edmund Burke Also, I believe this is something you should get used to. From my understanding, being a patient's advocate is a large role in nursing.
  5. I love this thread!!
  6. As a former truck driver, I have to tell you, you're WAY off the mark on the pay. The majority of truck drivers make more like 40 - 50k. Oh and yes that is living in a truck, never seeing your home or family, eating crappy truck stop food, paying to do your laundry (that is if your able to stop at a facility). I really could go on and on. TRUCK DRIVING SUCKS. Did I mention how dangerous it is? Psh 100k. Hahahaha. If you could get a truck driving job making 100k after a 3 week education, everyone would be doing it. Instead there is a huge driver shortage (a true shortage) because it's truly not even worth the money. That's why I'm back in school. One more thing, my husband recently interviewed with a "good company" delivering propane (local hazmat job). They offered $16.50/hour. He countered with $19/hour and they said good luck finding a job! Last thing, I swear, trucking companies aren't required to pay overtime. Which really hurts seeing as the average work week is 60-70 hours. Did I mention truck driving sucks? 😑 *this has been a public service announcement*
  7. Over the summer?! Wow I thought I was tough taking 6 classes this semester. That's a lot for summer semester! Good luck! I'm sure you feel confident about it or you wouldn't have done it.
  8. double ... NO, TRIPLE like. this is always me!!
  9. Seriously? ... I don't even know what to say ... We're boasting about taking a class that's too easy? How about we're proud we busted our butts to achieve those grades! Omg!
  10. I hate that young people have this "I've got to get out of my patents house" mentality. Trust me, you don't. Been there done that. Honestly if there's not a significant reason why you want to leave (other than their rules ) I would stay. You'll find out real quick how hard life on your own is and possibly mess up your future plans...
  11. At least you're not paid less being a male in a female dominated industry. As a female truck driver I was paid less and got less respect than the men. The day I got out of trucking was the best day of my life! :)
  12. Also I've noticed many of my classmates who don't do as well as me, aren't putting in the effort I am. Let me be clear, I am not saying that's true of everyone. Only the ones I have spoken to about grades. They ask me how I do so well and when I tell them how much I study they're like "oh no I can't do that. I've got friends or a boyfriend or a life.." Whatever. I understand if you have a job or kids. I KNOW I couldn't do it if I did. However many people I've spoken to have none of this. Someone is taking care of them while they're in school and they're just not putting as much effort. Once again, I'm not saying this is everyone who doesn't make As. It's just a lot of people I've spoken to at my school.
  13. Ok maybe I exaggerated a little bit saying a B would devastate me. Life has handed me much worse things than a B and I've always managed to pick myself up and move on. I keep hearing that grades aren't that big of a deal when it comes to getting a job and I'm sure that's true once you have experience. However every internship and residency I've looked into has had a minimum gpa and has has used gpa as a determining factor. If I have all the same qualifications as Sally but my gpa is higher I'm betting I'll get the position. I'm hoping that a high gpa will help me to stand out since I'll have no experience. Also I've received many grants and scholarships due to my gpa. And bottom line, I just don't see the point of not putting ALL I have into school. I quit a truck driving job I HATED, working 70 hours a week to go to school. I'm so blessed to be able to do this. My husband is still working his butt off so I'm able to. I just feel like there's no excuse for me to be doing any less than my best ... and right now that's As. Who knows what the future will bring. :)
  14. Aww! You guys are the best! :) This was my first time starting a topic so I was kinda nervous! I'm so glad I did. This site is such a wonderful tool. I'm definitely going to keep doing my best but I am going to relax a little. I have a three tests this week and I'm going to do my best and move on! Now for some last minute studying!
