OMG! How old are you? Have you ever been to college before? ALL material for a course is covered whether it takes 18 weeks or 5 weeks, whether the prof gets to it or not. Ultimately, its up to the student to read all the material. Whatever the college catalog says the class covers is what the class covers--no ifs, ands or buts. The summer sessions at my school are only 5 weeks long. Each day of class is equavalent to a week of classes during the regular school year. When you are taking a summer class like this you only take one class and you pretty much spend your time out of class studying in order to keep up with the class. Next time you pick a shortened summer class, chose very carefully.
I just finished day one of a summer session in Chemistry and it ain't pretty. I THOUGHT that getting it out of the way over the summer might be the best way to go because the prof could not possibly cover ALL the material in only 7 weeks. WRONG!!! I know if I can survive this, I can do anything.
i did chem over the summer and micro the next summer. Not easy, but I was so relieved to have it over and done with by august.
I took psychology and Intermediate Algebra in summer 1 which was a 5 wk course. Psychology was a breeze very easy for me for others it was kind of hard. I had a girl in my class who was taking psych and Intermediate algebra along with me she was failing psych and barely passing math. Myself on the other had was passing psych with passing colors and failing math. She wants to go to pharm school in the long run. So we can say she likes math. Myself on the other hand hate math and like human behavior(psych). I ended up dropping the math class in the 1st 3wks so I could keep my psych grade up I got a "B" . Which I was happy for and also got out of class 1 1/2 wks early. The teacher allowed students who was confortable with their grades to leave out a test. I will be taking the algebra again this fall, ugh! I would agree with someone on here about getting the whole aspect of the class in a 5wk course. I wish I would of taken psych in a whole semester since I think I could of enjoyed the class a bit more and recalled the information. Everything was rushed so much that remembering most of the information is by going back to the text. When it should be remembered mentally. In a nutshell, I wouldn't take science courses in the summer. You need more time to recall the information. If anything just take micro in a extended summer course not the A&P's.
