First if you haven't passed NCLEX you are not an RN, second places can NOT refuse to hire you because of pregnancy that is illegal in all fifty US states and territories. Third there ust be other hospitals or nursing homes you can apply for. Check with the school you graduated from they usually give assistance in finding employment for their graduates it helps them with recruitment.

It would appear that the OP is from the Philippines, and therefore is not protected by US laws. From her other posts, I'm guessing that she has already been licensed in the Philippines and is wanting to become licensed in the US, but has not yet taken the NCLEX-RN to become eligible to do so.

Are there any organizations such as or similar to the Red Cross, blood donor centers, free clinics for the poor, etc. in your country? (Sorry, not really familiar). If so perhaps you could volunteer a few hours a week for one of these. It would be a good way to get some experience, help others and get rid of the boredom. As a volunteer you could adjust your hours as your pregnancy progressed. It would also look good on your resume later.

I honestly think that bhevy meant that "as of aug 2007...", not 2008.

Congrats bhevy! On the pregnancy AND passing NCLEX!!! :balloons: :nurse:

yeah..you're right. she is an RN in the Philippines and would want to take the NCLEX for licensure in the US. As for her interest to work as a nurse, Philippine hospitals can tend to be discriminatory, and they don't hire nurses who are pregnant.
