Hello all,

If any NP or MD can contact me, please do. I need an preceptor for Health Assessment this coming September. I hope to assist other students when I become an FNP because I know it is so challenging, plus I love teaching. If you are an NP or MD, please feel free to private message me. If you know of any friends or family members? I live in Florida- near Orlando/Daytona area. I will be forever grateful. I do not want to sit out this semester. Thanks so much!

Can your school help you out? Have you tried the Florida NP association and the AANP?

There is very little help in this student's position.

This Is an on going problen in NP education.

Why it hasn't been addressed long before now is a crime. Also why the main nursing accrediting body gives its imprimatur to schools that have no pull in this regard is also beyond comprehension.

This student requires an assessment preceptor. That means he/she will need several others to graduate. Good luck with that. And while I'm at it, SHAME on the nurse practitioners that REFUSE to take NP students under their wings.

How soon they forget who trained them. And in my book their faces will forever be displayed in the halls of infamy.

Florida student, PM me and I will help all I can despite my bitter assessment of many of my peers.

The vast majority of NPs that don't take students is not due to personal preference rather their facility policies. Many NPs that do take students are selective in whom they take and where they take them from.

I don't have any "bitterness" to those NPs that choose not to take students as it decreases productivity and ultimately their bottom line. On the opposite side, I don't think all NPs should take students, especially novice NPs.

How long have you been a practicing NP? In what setting? How many students do you take per semester? From any school?
