How difficult are these classes for an 18 yr old ap1 statistics psychology sociology and english 1

You can do it, i am 19 years old and i took those classes last quarter and after hours of studying i earned a 4.0. try not to get distracted when it comes to midterms and finals and always have you eyes on the prize. i stayed home so many times just to study 2 weeks before my AP-1 midterm and final. best of luck!

If you are living in the dorms it might be a pretty heavy workload. My first semester at school I didnt do anything but all the wrong things.

And it is very dependent on the teacher. My A and P teacher was phenomenal but sociology was terrible so that class was harder for me.

Thank you guys so much this has prepared me in ways i cant explain. I just hope i dont overwork myself with all the studying ill be doing

It will all come down to time management for you. While I still need to do A&P 1 and 2 and Micro myself, I have already completed a BS in Information Security and have a solid science and math background to begin with. All science classes (whether chem, bio, A&P, or even computer science) require a LOT of out of class reading and work. But honestly, make sure you read every bit of assigned reading and take notes or outline on that reading BEFORE each class. That way you get the most out of the lectures and labs.

Someone also suggested recording lectures as well... another great idea. I am also a visual learner myself and do a lot of highlighting when reading (with different colors for definitions, concepts, and study points) and love to have full color pictures, models, and computer sims. Most texts nowadays come with CD's that will have a ton of visual aids. Buy even the optional study guides and reference stuff and use them for each course.

Above, all else, though make sure you discipline yourself and your schedule. Schedule out (even if that means an actual paper schedule) time for reading, studying (yup, separate times :)), sleep, food, recreation time, and down time. Those last two, down time and recreation time, do need to be separate as well. Down time is just quiet time where you can do nothing or just veg out. This time allows your brain to decompress. Recreation time would be a more active but enjoyable activity that gives you a change of pace and a break from studying and memorizing. Sleep, rec time, down time, and meal time are all essential to making sure your brain can handle all the material you are trying to cram into it. You don't have to (and you shouldn't) devote a LOT of your time each day to these activities but you do need some to balance out all the work that you will be doing.

You would be surprised by what a half hour or hour a day of down time and rec time will do to lift your spirits and aid in concentration and retention. And being sleep deprived will just make you miserable all around. TRUST ME. :)

Thank you i will try to manage my time and study well. I just hope i can keep up

JonB,

Please remember that in these message boards, everyone has a 4.0, ALL their pre-requisites were easy, the posters come from a family of doctors and therefore know most of the info. they need to learn, blah blah blah.

In other words, take these answers with a grain of salt.

of course! It just means i have to try twice as hard.
