Should I take a refresher chem class?

I am just about ready to reg. for summer AP1. I noticed the prereq for this class is chem. I took chem a very long time ago. Do you think I should take a chem refresher again before AP1.

The chemistry in my class was one chapter and very basic. Talked about covalent bonds, graded potentails, basic atom, molecule anatomy, stuff like that.

I had never taken chem (not even in HS) before I took A&P I and once I figured a few things out, it was fine and I got an A. Since you've taken chem before, I'm sure all the terms, like the different ions, etc., will come back to you.

I agree with pps- the chem in A&P1 is very minor. I had last taken chem in high school (I'm 30), and I got an A in A&P1.

Good luck!

oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh nnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo

YUCK.:barf01: ..... There was only one chapter in the book that covered chem... in my course anyway .... Good luck to you

If it's not required, then don't take it. However, if you have to take it, take general chemistry instead of the intro to chemistry because the general chemistry will prepare you more for drug calculations and more and more.

I haven't taken chem...it's not a pre-req for us although I will probably take it.

However our Molecular/Bio class...everything I learned in that chem wise- was the same for A+P 1. It was extremely brief and minor- we didn't even go over it...it was just a " you should know it" type thing...but it was so minor that it was easy for me because like I said it was the same stuff I learned in Molec. Bio.

Hmmm...in my BSN program the required us to take fund. of chem with our structure and function (aka..A&P) and then we are required to take organic chem with microbiology...and then human phys. with physiological chemistry...and then of course human genetics...if you have to take ochem and pchem afterwards then i suggest that you brush up on your basic chem...but if you are not required to take these other sciences...then for anatomy and phys...i would not worry about it...we always spend a day brushing up on it anyways!!
