Nutrition online

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, I will be finish with all my prerequisites in May, and then hopefully I will get accepted into one of the several BSN programs that I have applied to.

There is just one problem, this darn Nutrition class that I'm taking online, it seems to me that it is harder to study and to make A's on it, then it was in A&PI/II.

I would just like to know, if anybody else already took that class, and what they think about it.

Is there any efficient way to study for an exam? The Instructor gave us 7 chapters of the book which will be on the next exam. :o

On my first exam, I made an B+, and I really studied hard for that class :angryfire .

To me it is simply impossible to know everything about the 7 chapters and additionally take other classes.

Thus I have to make an A, I cannot afford to mess up my GPA with this class.

Please, anybody who already had experience with an online class, please give me some advise.

Thank you,

Aubrey

Sorry for the length of my post.

Where are you taking the class? I'm taking mine at Rio Salado and I find the class setup to be very organized. I made a 90 on my midterm. I beleive it was on the first 8 chapters. We had a ch a week, study guidelines, essay questions and some worksheets. Plus, I do the reviews in my study guide. I find that if I comprehend all the lesson competencies, I do very well on the exam.

The way I organize it for myself is I do the assignment every week. Turn in my homework and do the practice questions. Then, the week before my midterm I reread all the ch's and worked more practice questions in the study guide. Reread my essays, and that seemed to prepare me. Rereading the ch's the week before my exam helped so much, it made everything fresh in my mind.

I agree with you about the class being hard. I am doing better in Micro than Nutrition, and I am spending about the same amount of time studying each, sometimes more for Nutrition. I made a B+ on my first test also! I am taking it as a telecourse plus class, meaning I watch a show, take tests and do assignments online, and I have to mail in 2 additional assignments. I don't know if all the classes are like mine.

I watch the shows, answer the review questions, do the pretests and still made the B!!!

Hopefully this week I will do better. Our instructor also gives extra credit, that will help me get an A. Have you asked your instructor about any extra credit?

Good luck!

Chris
