Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Unfortunately I am limited to only 300 words. Im suppose to include:

1) briefly explain who i am

2) explain my motivation for a registered nursing career

3) describe why i will be a good registered nurse

4) express what i think my biggest challenge will be, if accepted.

Do you all think I have covered all of that well? any tips or anything i could change/add!? Thank you so much for your time.

I want to be a student in the nursing program at NFCC, due to a crisis I had as a child. It helped me realize that nursing is my calling, and it would be my dream to complete this nursing program and become a registered nurse.

I feel as though everyone who's put on this earth serves a purpose. It's up to that person to figure out their purpose. Luckily, I found mine at a very young age. When I was eleven years old, I defeated my battle with Anorexia Nervosa. That was a very dark year in my life and sometimes almost seems like a blur, so I don't talk about it often.

It was on Mother's Day. My mother had to fly me to Arizona, where I would spend the next four months, to receive treatment. Even at such a young age, I felt so much guilt. I knew her heart was breaking for me. That in itself should have been enough for me to want to get better”, but it wasn't that easy. With the help of God, very patient Nurses, and Physicians, I was able to overcome such a horrible sickness.

Still years later, at twenty-two years old, I still have a passion inside of me to help people who are battling any kind of sickness. I want to help others who are going through what I went through, because I know what they are feeling and I know what not to say to someone who is in that position. I think my biggest challenge will be, having to revisit a difficult place in my life through the eyes of others. I know the career that I have chosen will not be easy, but I know it will be very rewarding and I would be honored to be accepted into the NFCC RN program.
