NLN Results....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?

I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!

Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.

Hey Batman! Thanks for the cheers! Did you take your Pre-NLN this past Saturday? When will you get your results?

When I took mine, they offered me a pile of scrap paper, a pencil, a calculator, AND a cup of coffee!!! I was the only one in the room so I was very relaxed. I don't like it when people rush through a test and I feel I'm taking too long or I get done earlier than others and feel that maybe I didn't do well because it was too easy. So being in the room alone was a great blessing! Do I live in the sticks??? Ha!

Anyway, when I set up an interview with the nursing program director, I asked her secretary if the waiting list was long. She told me it wasn't too bad. She had to go all the way to number 72 to come up with 40 students for the upcoming enrollment. She told me it's a great posibility that I would be able to start the program by fall of 2008. They don't start a program in January. It's still a long wait but better than fall of 2009!

I hope your score makes you happy!!!

Hi willbenurse!! Thanks for the good wishes!!

You were given a calculator?! That rocks!! lol We were told anyone caught with a calculator not only would be thrown out of the test, but they would be thrown out of the school. I haven't seen one school yet let people use a calculator, but as you took the test alone perhaps they aren't used to giving it. The cofffee idea was very generous and sweet of them. I want to go to your school!! lol

I like that you were able to take it alone. I would have done that if given the opportunity. People were in and out during the my tests which gets a bit distracting after a while. I was done before time was officially up and opted to stay and check my work.

I did take mine on 3/3. They told me I should get a letter within 2 weeks. I should be having a stroke this time next week. lol

I was only given 2 pieces of paper which they made us write our name on. We also had to hand it in at the end of the test. We were however allowed to write all over our testing booklets and I did that with the math.

Jan 2007 isn't bad at all. My school has an 18 month wait, but I will finish out my pre-reqs during that time. I was also thinking of taking a pharmacology class and a Spanish class if I ran into extra time.

Oh Willbenurse! What I wouldnt have given for a calculator...! :D

Good luck to everyone!

and maybe a dictionary... :D

LOL I agree caeiluna...a calculator and dictionary would have rocked!

Wow! Yeah! A dictionary would have been totally awesome! But totally not right! Ha! When the test administrator handed me the calculator, I about fell off my chair! I'm strong in math, but slow, so the calculator helped me with time. But I do remember that I had quite a bit of time remaining after each section. I got up, stretched, used the restroom... then started the next section when time was up.

I see some of you had to take the test in written form! Wow! I thought I was in the sticks! I took a computer version! It was great! So much easier than transfering answers to another sheet. There is way too much room for error that way! Computerized, you just click the dot next to your answer and move on!

I'm celebrating my fortunes!!!! :monkeydance:

Willbenurse--my school did the computerized version in November and the stupid thing messed up! Graphs and all sorts of crazy stuff was messed up. It was also supposed to have generated a score instantly and didn't. They had to wait a full 4 weeks. I would have went bonkers.....well I did pretty much go bonkers while waiting 2 weeks. I heard in the future all the tests will be in computerized format. I think I might have liked that better but given the choices--computerized test in November or fill in the dot stuff in Jan...I chose Jan. More time to "study."

Oh and you were also so lucky getting to stretch and go to the restroom after you were finished. We had to wait until time was up...imagine 100+ girls waiting to go to a 5 stall bathroom and having a 5 minute break in between tests. Needless to say I was running to get in line quickly!

I took the test on 03/03/07, I did not realize that there were 80 questions on the Verbal, and stopped after 60, because the NLN practice only had 60 question. I will be retaking the test. I think the answer for the Newton question is 500. Since you already has the mass in Kg X by 9.8. The way to remember is Newton the unit of Force. F=M(kg)*Gravity

I got my scores back on 03/10. I got 122, I dont feel too bad seeing that did not answer 20 question, because of own ignorance, as stated above. I thought there was 60 questions--because there was 60 question on the practice test. So I will retake the take in July. Verbal-45 percentile, Math--96 percentile and Science-92 percentile. I basically screwed myself.

My advice to anyone taking the test practice your speed, and you dont know the answe guess. I guessed on the last 10 question in Math section.

Hi,

I took the test on 2/24 and got my scores in the mail today - 148 composite.

My advice on the Verbal section is to do all the definition type questions first then do the reading comprehension - which are sandwiched in the middle of 2 definition sections. Also, I thought I completely bombed the science section so I think there were a lot of throw out questions in that section.

guys, where can i read about NET? when can i take it? where?

I'd do a google search. I'm not familiar with that test so I couldn't offer much help. Good luck with it though!

Hello everyone, got my NLN results yesterday, made 128 composite and 94 percentile. Did better on the math than i thought i did especially since i ran out of time and guessed the last 10. did the best on the verbal section and worst on science, which surprised me since i love math and science.

Thank God this is over, now on to the next worry --- waiting for the acceptance letter.

All the best to those waiting and still to take the test.
