Have anatomy, need physio

I'm looking at applying to ABSN or Graduate-entry MSN programs. I fulfill a lot of prereqs, but I don't have others. One of my issues is that I took an anatomy course in college, but not a dedicated physio course, and most of the community colleges around here teach A&P as two combined courses. What should I do about fulfilling that prereq?

It's more common to find physio as a stand-alone course at a 4 year school. If you can't find it in your area, you might have to bite the bullet and take A&P combined :(

Ugh, I hope not. I already need to pick up microbio, developmental psych, and possibly nutrition on top of the physio, I don't want to retake anatomy, esp. since I took a 300-level version in the first place.

how long ago did you take this course? If you didnt take it that long ago then you can go the college's website where you took the class at, look at their online catalog, and show the description to your nursing school. they can then determine if the class will fufill their requirements for A&PI AND II. If they dont, they will probably recommended other options to you, but if you have to take the class, do what you have to do. Trust me, the rewards will be profitable when you get that acceptance letter.

Good luck!

It was a 300-level anatomy class I took in the fall of 05 - all anatomy, no physio. Some of my other classes might count in a backdoor manner for physio (intro to eukaryotic cell bio, for one) but not the anatomy course.

If you took it in '05 it may be a good idea to take it again anyways. I know if it were me, I could probably use a refresher after being out of the class for 3 years.

Well, this is what i would do in your situation. Talk to the nursing school and see if they need you to retake it. They are the only ones that can tell you. No one on here can really tell you that. Go on the website for the nursing school that you are interested in, and send an email to the counselor over the nursing program. I don't know if i recommend you to retake it, especially if you dont have to spend the money. And if they dont need you to, just read the book if you need a refresher! lol.
