Has anyone taken the ATI?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Assessment Technology Incorporated entrance test. It's the assessment my school uses. I haven't heard of it before...Anyone?

Our school uses the ATI program. Last year (during our first semester of nursing school), we took the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test. For our class it was just "practice", but every class after us had to take it as an entrance exam. It wasn't really hard. Areas covered were Reading (40 questions - paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, inferences/conclusions), Math (45 questions - whole numbers, fractions and decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion, metric conversions, algebraic equations, and diagrams and graphs), Science (30 questions - reasoning, general, biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology), and English (55 questions - puntuations, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, and spelling). We also had to take the ATI critical thinking test and a self assessment inventory. Each semester we are also given an ATI book that summarizes each subject (ex. fundamentals, Med/Surg nursing, Psych nursing), and at the end of each semester we have to take the corresponding ATI exam. ATI does have a good website that provides practice tests (some free, some for a fee) so you can get a feel for what they are like - it's http://www.atitesting.com. Don't worry too much - the ATI tests are not really difficult.

Good luck!! :)
