Got accepted but..

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I recently got accepted into a nursing program but I sent them my transcripts before I finished the last of my prereqs during my spring semester. Unfortunately I had a family issue that caused me to be depressed and my grades suffered a lot because of it.

I got a D in Micro and a F in A&P2 which really put my GPA down a lot. 2.9GPA now

I know I could of gotten an A in these classes if it wasnt for my depression so I retaking them this summer.

My only problem is on the acceptance letter it says I need to send transcripts again

if I am enrolled in classes at the end of the semester and to make sure my GPA doesnt drop below 3.0 or admission may be revoked.

Do you think this will be a problem since I did poorly did during this spring semester and went down to a 2.9? They accept retakes and I know I will do great this summer. So I was planning to send my transcripts once I am done retaking them and sending in my higher GPA.

I am just afraid once I send in the new transcripts that they will see that I got a 2.9 during my spring semester and revoke admission.

You honestly need to sit down with an adviser at your college of choice and explain this to them.

We can't answer these questions as there's a chance that any information we give to you will be inaccurate.

You need to contact the school.

I really don't know if they will accommodate your request to retake the classes in the summer unless you ask them directly. At my school, acceptance letters are sent out in may, schedules are finalized in June. Students are also required to submit health records, background check, drug test by July as well as order uniform and name tag directly from the school and it takes weeks to get them all in order. If you are having a personal crisis, it may be wise to hold off another semester before starting. I would speak to the director to save my spot in the spring semester but in the meantime retake the classes and do great. GL to you.

Like everyone said, contact the school. However, if your school operates like most, you should be starting your first semester in the fall. If you choose to retake classes this summer, you will not be able to start nursing classes this fall - there is just not enough time. If you do retake classes this summer, you may reapply to start program in the spring, or fall of next year. However, I do believe, based on your information in the post, your acceptance will likely be revoked due to your low GPA.
