Chem Spring 2008

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi all,

Hoping to start a Chem study group for Spring 2008. I do not begin class until January 15th but figured I would see about getting a group together as soon as possible.

I finished Chem this past semester and got a C. If you are good in math you will not have any trouble. I ended up getting a tutor to get me through it. Stay on top of it and don't fall behind and you will be fine. It really isn't as hard as one would think once you understand it. Good luck! I am on to Micro next week.

Hi all,

Hoping to start a Chem study group for Spring 2008. I do not begin class until January 15th but figured I would see about getting a group together as soon as possible.

Hi Kristi-

I'd love to take part, especially since I am starting mine on 1/22!!

I'm taking General Chemistry starting on the January 24th. I haven't taken any chemistry since 1997. Yikes!

Ugh -

I just checked the prices on my books for Chemistry. I forgot how expensive science books were!

I'm taking a biology class as well. The books for this class is almost $300!! Good lord!

Had to vent...lol

Check Amazon and Half.com for cheaper copies of your books. If you order from Amazon or one of their Marketplace sellers, be sure to pick expedited shipping if you need it within a week or so. Also, check eBay and see if anyone is selling a used copy of your book(s). I got my Chem books on eBay and saved $100!

I'm in, too. I did Fundamentals of Chemistry last semester, and I'm doing Chem I this semester. For those of you taking Chem for the first time, here's my 2 cents: Do EVERY homework problem your professor recommends. Also, go to your textbook's website and sign up for the online tests, tools, etc. There's no penalty for messing up a problem online (because it's just for your own learning benefit), and you just might see the same problem on a test! I know I did. One other thing: write up your labs as soon after you do them as you can. That way, the lab is fresh in your mind. Make sure you have your lab partner(s)'s email or cell number, in case you forget to write down a piece of data during the lab.

Good luck to one and all!

Specializes in ICU.

Starting Chem. this semester (Jan. 15th). Count me IN!!!

Specializes in Telemetry and Psych.

Had my first class today....I think i'm going to like the instructor for this class. She has a lot of energy which will help to keep things interesting.

Have my first quiz on Wednesday...yikes!

I have my first Chem class tonight along with lab. Kind of nervous! An online study group would be great!

Well, had my first Chem class along with my first lab Tuesday evening. The instructor seems like she will be good. There are other people in the class which have never taken chemistry before either like myself so that makes me feel better.

The lab was kind of difficult because they had us do so much stuff!! :oWe had to do some graph and statistical analysis on a computer and use the metric system!! We had not even gone over these things in lecture yet (because it was our first night) and we had to apply things that we had not learned yet (conversion factors) which we are supposed to go over during Thursday's lecture.) She states she is not going to grade very hard on it though because she knows this:up:

I hope the rest of the class is not going to be like this.
