A&P II Club! Come on in!

I did my first dissection last night. We did not do any in A&P I. We dissected a sheep brain. It was facinating. I was not grossed out at all. It was cool to see everything in person. Now I will remember it so much better.

We didnt do any dissection either in A&P I i dont think we are in this class which sucks...

im takin a&p ii this semester... i love it!!! we just finished the endocrine system.. i liked knowing what all the hormones do and diseases. my teacher is funny but loud.. lol how is everyone liking it so far? a&p i really comes into play in a&p ii..

the endocrine system will be last for us...we started with blood.

it's a lot of information and i have a headache, my teacher may be funny but he can also jump around quite a bit. i wished he'd stick more to the note outline when he lectures, i am flipping pages too much...one minute he is here....then out of a sudden he changes subjects, his daughter has adhd...well, i think he has it too and he told us he is a "geek" :mad: i wished he'd cut the "blank" and "git her done!!!!" :smackingf

god give me strength to survive and an a :rolleyes:

We didnt do any dissection either in A&P I i dont think we are in this class which sucks...

That is ashame. What I learned doing disection I remember so much better than anything I learned from lecture alone. It seems the hands on, ect really does help it to stick. It is helping me now in digestion. I remember the whole digestive tract. I dont know why some schools do the whole 9 yards (disecting a cadaver) some a cat, and some dont do anything at all. You would think it would be good for us all to be on the same level. :mad:

We had lab today again which was AWESOME, he is the BEST lab teacher!!!! He is so organized and tremendously helpful and nobody leaves early unlike in other labs in my previous classes. Discipline in the class is very good and people respect him and each other.

We did blood typing on our own blood and I am O+, we also viewed our blood smear which we prepared last time and my differential WBC count came out very perfect, I actually had one of those rare basophils floating around :wink2: Next lab we will start the heart and we will disect a sheep heart.

Lecture is another story with that guy though....I'll keep taping him and it helps tremendously to shuffle through his scattered presentation. I'll be ok :rolleyes:

Now that would be cool. I wish so bad we got to do something like that. We just look at slides and answer questions. B O R I N G. We arent having lab Wednesday, and he said we would use lab time sometimes for class lecture. I can deal with that. I like the class, and that will help us to cover more material. I just dont like lab.

I did go and talk to my nursing advisor today and she figured my total g.p.a and it is 3.7. She told me it looks like everything is in order, but I know, that doesnt mean I will get in.:uhoh21:

Well, my first test is over. If it had only been the multiple choice and short answer part, I think I would have been fine. I wasn't quite prepared for the essays though. I think I should find out how I did on Wednesday.

That would be hard. The only time we are given essay tests is if we miss one of the regular ones.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Maybe you didnt do as bad as you are afraid of. Try to think positive.

I am so sorry that you have to deal with essay questions....I absolutely HATE essays. Good luck and I am sure you did well.
