Pre-nursing student

Published

Hi everyone! I just started some pre-requisite classes last week at a local community college. I am one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. I'm starting out slow as I work part time. Any advice or tips to get through? Which classes were the hardest and which ones are easier?

Thanks

Welcome! I am also just starting to take my Pre Reqs. So far General Psychology was very interesting and easy for me. I am taking Life Span development and Principles of Sociology which are very interesting, so far it's looking like an easy semester but it's only week 2 lol. What classes are you taking?

Hi and thanks for replying. I'm taking a math class, and an English composition class right now. It's kind of a basic math course, that's always been my weakest subject, but I have several more required to graduate(Even though that's a long way) I can't wait to get into psych and sociology. I'm excited to take them classes. I plan on taking more classes next semester in January

I have a previous Bachelors degree. For my program only 3 or 4 pre reqs are needed: AP1, Intro to Chem, Intro to Computers, and believe an English class. I retook Psych because 10 years ago my first year of college was a diaster. I found Psych interesting and great refresher for my current field of work.

Currently taking Intro to Chem & AP 1.

Intro to Chem is a bit challenging think because it's been almost 8 years since I took a math class. I tried pre calc over the summer. Still Intro was like Math & Science collided. A lot of work in regards to labs.

AP1 is a lot of memorization. Haven't delved deeper in the class yet. It's okay bit of refresher of an EMT class I took and Bio years ago. I had some difficulty in lab because it's been almost 6 years since I took Bio hopefully can adapt quick. Think it depends on the Instructor.

Best of luck.
