Pre-CRNA grades

Published

Hello all,

So I'm currently going to

Be starting nursing school next fall. But before I do I'm already looking to become an CRNA (the decision was made prior to nursing school). I understand it's a long way off, but I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me exactly what grades they look at, the two years of prereqs to get into nursing school or the actual grades from nursing school!

Thanks!

Science, nursing and other coursework in that order and ultimately the cumulative as well. Focus on getting mostly As.

The answer to your questions is yes.

They look at everything. More emphasis may be put on your science courses, but that does not mean a bunch of C's in your fluffy nursing theory and sociology classes won't raise eyebrows. Treat every class like it counts, because it does.

I believe that it is mostly your nursing (BSN) classes and your ICU experience. Try and keep a GPA of 3.5 and above and you should be fine!

They look at all the grades with preference to those who get A's in all course material. Do your best and try and get 4.0 throughout if you land in the 3.4-3.7 cumulative range you'll still have a good chance. Just do the best you can..

Hey there and congrats into getting into nursing school! It's tough.I just graduated with my BSN (non-RN) and currently waiting for my boards. Anyway, I agree with the following posters above, try your best on everything. Good luck!

it depends on the school. Some look more at science and nursing, some look at all of it,etc. Best plan is reach for a 4.0.

From what I've read on here and around the internet, it just depends upon which school you apply at to attend. Some only look at the last 60 credit hours of school work, some look at everything, some look mostly at nursing and science courses and minimally at the extras. It just varies. Remember, too, that you have to take the GRE, and have good ICU experience (they say that almost everyone who applies and is granted an interview is CCRN certified). So those'll factor into your overall profile as well.
