Hi all,

Is there anyone here starting at Prairie View this Spring or currently attending? I got my acceptance letter about 2 weeks ago....I am so excited...and nervous! Can any PV students give advice on what to expect?

Thank you so much for you advice..... i called to see if i was missing anything and they said i was fine.... im currently taking general chem and it will be over in a few weeks .... as soon as it ends i will send them a new transcript ....... i have heard that pv does first come first served when it comes to applicants... can u tell me how true this is??

well only 100 out of 400 people get accepted into the program and they do go by first come first serve. I go to school with some who got in on a 2.80 GPA and a score on the Hesi of an 81%. But she turned in her stuff in December to attend in the fall. Get it in early to hopefully secure your spot. Also don't forget to send them like a class schedule with a statement that you are taking this class.

Thank you Navy, I am done with my sciences classes A in chem and Ap2 the second time the first i had a D so i had to retake it, and AP1 n micro i had B, so do you think i have chances to get in, and about the hesi what is the cut off percentage to have

What did you get the second time around on AP2? Yeah you do, don't repeat too many courses bc they don't like that. Also the cut off for Hesi is 75% on all sections.

can u tell me how many schools did u apply to???,, i have applied to utmb but they require an additional science and i would have to take that in the fall ...... i was looking to apply to twu but they require u to take stats before u can apply which sucks because i will have all of their prereqs besides that one class!!! i also have an associates degree in the arts so i am really hoping i get accepted to pv ..... i may apply at uthouston and lamar in beaumont but i will have to retake the hesi because those schools require sections that pv did not require me to take......

oh and someone wanted advice for studying for the hesi and i will say buy the hesi review book and get the anatomy for dummies.... i over heard a girl say this just two days before i took my test and i got an 84 on th ap sect .... 88 on reading comp .... 96 of the math ..... i know this scores arent increbile but i was very please with them and it was my first time take the hesi entrance exam

I only applied to PVAMU and I didn't think I was going to get in. It was my only choice. PVAMU requires stats as well. Try doing the math statistics I got in with that. PVAMU is 5 semesters instead of 4 and that's a great thing bc theres a low drop out rate unlike TWU, UTHSC and other 4 semesters.

I think if you study the sections they are for in the HESI book for A&P in depth with your A&P book they can do awesome. I got an 90% on it. And just read that.

has any spring 2012 applicants heard anything back from PVAMU yet??? i feel like they do a poor job of keeping the applicants notified of their application status and even when u call the school its so little to be said :( ..... they werent even able to tell me if my application was considered complete because people were in the office..... ima going to try an email

Do you have everything turned in? have you taken your HESI? are you taking any classes? Did you go through the check list from online? you have to consider that there are over 400 applicants and each one has to be put in the computer. Also you won't be notified of you application status til about 15 days after the deadline.

yes... i have taken the hesi ... everything is turned in and the only class im missing is stats and im taking it this fall ... you do have a very valid point with there being so many applicants but i guess i was just expecting a little more feedback from them and confirmation that they have received everything

Did you call Ms. A******* and asked her if she's received your stuff? what did she say? Are you taking stats now? if you are make sure you send in a fee statement that you are taking that class and make sure you send tons of transcripts. Call and see what they tell you? if they tell you that you don't have your stuff. Your best bet is to resend it again. Make copies of everything and make sure the date is on them, Or else you will be at the bottom of the list. Good Luck.
