I am applying to PV for spring 2012. I notice that PV changed their deadline from September 1 to October 1. (I wonder why???) I turn in my transcripts last week. After my transcript was reviewed I was given a pre-nursing database with the following information:
-63 hours completed
-University GPA 3.18 (non-science course)
-Support Area GPA 3.53 (science course)
-Cumulative Department GPA 3.35
-HESI scores: Math 84, Reading 89, A&P 92, Grammer 92, and Critical Thinking 830.
Now, I have to wait patiently for a letter. I heard it takes up to 3-4 months.
If anybody else is applying for PV spring 2012 I would be more than glad to hear from you, and if you want, share your info with us.
(I am also applying at UT-Houston but I feel that my GPA is not high enough for their program.)
Let me know what you think!
Oh really Navyvet?!! Lets see.. Opps I got 86 cummulative score but I did vocab which they dont need but I did anyway and got low score , so with the vocab => 78!!!!(((( omg omg will they calculate vocab part so I wont get in
(!!!I really wanna study nurse, i love to be a nurse huhu, I hope they wont look at the voxab part and recalxulate without vocab part , so I will have total 86 without vocab... I asked Evolve not to send vocab but they couldnt do that ... Huhu, will it affect my app:(( Im beginning nervous and disappointing right now... Sigh:(

Don't worry, I did Vocabulary as well and when they sent me the sheet, they did not count the vocablulary part.So your are good.
Hi I have a question, when you guys say first come first serve, are you saying finish and completed with all your pre-req's before they look at you, or first to turn in all your information for that application period. I am applying for fall 2012 but still have 4 classes left to take and my hesi is not until december, do I bother applying in march? or wait til the spring of 2013. Could someone explain there process to me.
This is also my first time applying for pv-con. I've heard that the selection is based on first come basis meaning the sooner they have your application the better chance you have getting in. I heard that they preferre you to complete all the classes before applying and if u aren't they don't want you to apply completing your science course. Meaning, say u have micro left to finish before u apply, and another person has a history course. They are more likely to choose the student with the history course to complete requirement since people are more likely to fail a science course rather than elective. This is what I've read on other threads, u might want to read over fall 2011 prairie view threads, there's a lot of info.

I got a low score on my reading but had an overral score of 91 on the Hesi. I seen people with HESI scores of 80s get in.
