Any January 2015 Practical Nursing hopefuls out there?
I applied to Sheridan, George Brown, Centennial, Conestoga and Mohawk. I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with the HOAE testing, this might be a silly question but can you register for the test only after they have offered you to take it?
The nerves of waiting are getting to me, three to four more months!
Congratulations to everyone starting in September! I'm so excited for you guys! And to mylove87, how are you finding the program?
Just an update on the HOAE, you were all right... it isn't something you can really study for. The time limit added so much pressure that I mainly relied on intuition for most of the questions. As you said TheSkyIsPurple, you have to trust yourself. Unfortunately, Sheridan doesn't release the results so I don't know how I did.
Good news though, Conestoga sent me an offer! Although it isn't really my first choice because I live so far from the campus, I'm so grateful! I was just wondering if anyone knew if accepting on OntarioColleges would affect your other applications? I read in another thread that they inform the other colleges when you have accepted an offer. The Conestoga offer expires early and I'm waiting on Sheridan or George Brown, since they're the closest to where I live, but I've read they don't start processing applications till September.
Waiting is so stressful haha, how are you guys doing on the practicum requirements? I hope everyone is doing well .
Hi There!
I know this post is a little old, but I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out my chances of getting into the program. My HOAE results were okay, they weren't the greatest. I passed each section but literally on the Natural Sciences and the Academic Aptitude I passed by 50%. The Reading, Spelling and Vocational Index I passed by a bit more 65%-80%. My high school marks are 85 average and I have a 90 in math, some by academic upgrading. I also took General Arts and Science and did pretty well in my program.
My average is like right on the border line when I calculated it. But I mean I worked really hard, I'm sure most of you that applied are feeling that stress of waiting!!
Has anyone been accepted yet? I hope someone can help me figure out what they look for in terms of acceptance. I'm also not sure if applying early helps lol
Best of luck!
Um, well I cant say for sure what marks they want - but for me personally my marks are above in the thread : ) -
What I can tell you (now that I finished orientation) is that over 1200 people applied and under 120 people were accepted. So about 10% of the people were accepted that applied for Sept.
I was also told that Sept is a lot harder to be accepted for because of the number of applications, and that January is a bit easier (I cannot verify this, just something the lady at the administration office told me previously).
I believe you must have over an 85% average between your high school marks and the HOAE - HOWEVER, again, this is speculation based on my experiences. I really hope you get in! Dont give up!
Wait Have people heard back for January yet ? Mohawk in particular. Mocomotion says response should be in July, but I saw some posts on here on this day last year people were being accepted... I'm getting inpatient lol (in all seriousness -- I need to make some plans and this is holding me up right now)
Hi! I'm hoping for Mohawk RPN January 2015 start.. Just wondering if anyone knows when I'll be hearing from admissions? When did you get your offer?
Looking at posts from last year, people heard back on/around August 28th. I can't remember which thread I saw that in. However I haven't heard anything yet, and I can't get into Mocomotion it keeps saying my password is invalid when I am using the password they've provided, and there's no "forgot password" option.
Anyway, check your mocomotion, some people in another thread last year said it updated there first before anywhere else.

Hi ladies,
I was also accepted to the RPN program for Sept. '14 :)
so excited to start!
I agree that the HOAE was an IQ test, hard to study for but I studied. I watched youtube videos, did math, looked over the spacial sense questions, spelling etc.
You'll do great!!!
