  1. Hey guys! There isn't a set pass or fail mark. I am pretty sure the passing mark is based on the average passing mark of the people testing, if that makes sense OR its based on how many incorrect answers you selected. I think there might be a number of incorrect answers you can get and if you pass that you automatically fail. If you pass, they won't tell you what mark you got. Just focus on studying your areas of weakness and you should be fine. If you got through nursing school, you can pass the CPNRE.
  2. There is a program that comes in the front of the Saunders book that i highly recommend. I am unsure if mosbys offers this. The program is what REALLY worked for me. It has assessments, quizzes, practice questions and truthfully when i went to another tutor this was the program she was using, and I decided to stop paying her and study myself. Hope this helps!
  3. Please do not apply or use this program! It is a complete SCAM. I paid and failed my first attempt. I made a post on what I did to pass and I really just studied on my own the second time. You can see a tutor for guidance but majority of them are going to teach you the same thing they teach everyone or overwhelm your brain with too much information. Heres a link to my post of how I was successful on the 2nd attempt. I strongly recommend you take a read. Truthfully I only used my Saunders textbook and the online program that comes with the book! Behind the cover is a code and a website you can access and use to study. Its the BEST study program that you can do on your own. Best of luck! 4. They shouldve provided you with the information of the next examination window
  5. Yep thats the one I used. It comes with a program at the front of the book, scratch off the access code and login with the details. The program is excellent for practicing questions, you can even choose the content you'd like to study; application questions, priority, ABC's etc. It can help you really focus on those weak areas. Make sure to read the rationales and study the chapters you may be weak in, take notes, highlight, really understand what your reading. It may look like a lot, but once you break it down by chapter and section its actually an easy read. A lot of valuable information. I studied the maternity section thoroughly. There is a chapter in the beginning for test taking strategies also a good read!
  6. It was pretty low the first time around lol i wouldn't focus on your overall score amount, but focus on the areas you scored the lowest. Do the predictor test, figure out your areas of weakness and study those areas. I'm assuming to pass the CPNRE you'd need about a 70-75% thats 120/170. You probably weren't far off. Study your areas of weakness and i am confident you will pass next time. I found the first time, I went back and changed answers which is a big no no. The program that comes inside the Saunders book was the best resource I used to study hands down. Stay positive.
  7. How I passed my CPNRE on my 2nd attempt: Hey guys! I'm making this post to give support to my fellow nursing students who failed there exam on there first or 2nd attempt. First thing... IT WILL BE OKAY! YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND YOU WILL PASS EVENTUALLY. I found after I failed there was no resources on what to do especially anything up to date. I find reasons why students don't pass there first time is reading too much into the question, guessing answers or changing your original correct answer. Heres a list of tips on how to finally pass your CPNRE: 1.) Find what works for you and study wise. Personally, I had so much advice on using all types of resources - Uworld, PN mastery, mosbys, Saunders, prep courses, tutors. There is a lot of sources out there to help you succeed but what kind of learner are you? And what are your areas of WEAKNESS? What worked best for me was "Saunders NCLEX-PN review textbook" (Yes guys you will need to do some serious readings if you want to pass, but as you read you will find a lot of valuable information). This textbook has all the information you need. The great thing about Saunders is that it comes with a online learning program inside the book. You can login with the access code and use the program right away. I strongly recommend using this program along with reading the textbook. 2.) Limit your resources. I used my NCLEX saunders book and the program that comes with the textbook. If you have 4 study aids you cause yourself more confusion and anxiety. You only need two study aids. Prep courses? In my opinion, not worth it. UNLESS English is your second language and/or you've been out of school for a while. Even then, they are money grabs. I spent $1000 on a prep course in Toronto offered through bayc.ca and it didnt teach me to my learning needs. It was a classroom (also what I didnt like, I'd prefer a one on one tutor) so there wasn't much interaction between the teacher and student. You can teach yourself, you can study and pass on your own. 3.) Use the PREDICTOR TEST. I wouldn't recommend purchasing the prep guide, but purchase the predictor test. Its $40, 85 questions and that will show your readiness for the CPNRE. I'd suggest purchase the predictor test before you start studying to see your areas for improvement. They offer only one predictor test with a set of questions. You will only need to purchase it once. 4.) Study groups? They have there advantages and disadvantages. Share your study habits, ideas, help one an another. But spend quality time studying alone. Brainstorm ideas with peers and practice questions together. Your area of weakness may be there area of strength or vice versa. Ensure you study your own areas of weaknesses. 5.) Dedicate 1-2hours of quality study time a day. Use this time to read over the chapters in your Saunders book, highlight, take notes and do the review questions at the end of the chapters. Spend time reviewing question in the using the program that comes with the book. 6.) RELAX. THINK POSITIVE. YOU ARE WORTHY and you passed nursing school. You can and will pass your CPNRE. and once you get how to approach the question, you get it and it will be a breeze. As nurses we are here to help eachother, feel free to post and add comments on how you succeeded in passing. Thanks guys!
  8. I am going to make a post on how to pass after failing your first attempt. I passed my second attempt.
  9. I failed my first attempt in July. I passed my second attempt on Oct 3rd, got my results yesterday. I'm in Ontario. Good luck guys! & Congrats to those who passed :)
  10. I even did the predictor test the night before and got 77% I feel it was because I went back and changed a few answers. I shouldn't of done that. But yes, I will review the areas and get a bit more guidance from a tutor. The saunders cue cards worked really well because they offered a lot of practice questions which I did every chance I got. I was overly prepared, woke up early the day of, had a big breakfast etc. I studied for months.. lol One friend said this one was easier and that some of them are harder then this. But I feel like in terms of difficulty the test stays the same, content might change. I had zero math, lab values or medication questions. Mainly maternity and mental health. Idk guys! Pray for me!
  11. I unfortunately didnt pass. This I cant believe.. i'm not entirely crushed because I studied my ass off! I paid for a course in toronto, bought the books, met up with my girlfriends that also wrote. My friend failed the first time but the test isn't even hard, theres no math. Yes a little tricky, but i'm really surprised here guys.. I'm not spending money on a course again, not really sure what to do. Any words of wisdom?
  12. anyone get there results in hamilton?
  13. Did anyone who wrote the 27th in hamilton get there results yet?
  14. Where did you write? Hamilton? Toronto?
  15. If you prepared theres a good chance you will pass! I hope I passed too! I took a prep course in toronto which was really expensive, bought the saunders book and cue cards. I did the predictor test last night and got 80%. I honestly feel like I didn't need to take the course but we will see! I found some questions were tricky but the overall exam isn't hard... if your prepared.. Good luck!
