Postpartum nursing in/around LA

U.S.A. California

I'm looking for opinions about different LA area hospitals...specifially perinatal/postpartum nursing. I'll be moving down to LA in April of this year from SF. I've been working at a county hospital and am looking for something a little less intense/stressful.

I've applied to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and Verdugo Hills in Glendale. Any LA postpartum nurses out there? What are your thoughts/experiences?

I thought my heart was in L&D, but I find it much too technical. I love the teaching and support involved w/ postpartum (especially couplet care).

Thanks!

Why not LA County? Olive View needs NICU nurses and LAC USC might also hire you and your time in service for any other county or state will transfer towards retirement credit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip! I've applied to LA county as a PHN or clinic nurse. I'm definitely not a NICU person, but I'll try to find out if they are hiring in postpartum. Thanks again.

West Hills Hospital, located in West Hills, has a nice hospital with a good postpartum unit.

Then there's Kaiser Hospital, with campuses all over the Los Angeles area. Good luck to you.

Encino/Tarzana Regional Medical Center (Tarzana campus) has a highly sought-after postpartum department.
