I am nervous because I still feel like I don't know a hole heck of a lot but I do know that it's normal to feel that way so here goes......thanks again....

Congratulations hannabear1,

I hope to be in your position one day. I am sure you feel a great deal of relief to know you passed the boards. I will follow your plan of persistance and determination. I send my hats off to you.

Hannabear1,

Your feelings on "not knowing a whole heck of a lot" are normal. I have been an RN for 4 years and there are still a heck of a lot of things that I don't know. I have come a long way though and so will you! I recently purchased a book at Borders called "Your 1st Year as a Nurse" by Donna Wilk Cardillo, RN. It gives excellent pointers on what to expect and how to handle the first year which is undeniably the toughtest as you are doubting your skills and judgement. I felt the same way when I started out back in 1997! I highly recommend this book for all new grads and experienced ones as well. We are never too old to learn a thing or two and learning is a lifelong process. The ISBN number for that book is 0-7615-3333-8.

Good Luck! You'll be just fine!

Kelly:)

Thanks Kelly for the info. on the book. I'm going to check it out.
