For all of us in our first year of nursing, I thought it would be a good idea to post job interview questions and good answers here for everyone to share and hopefully use during interviews while we are looking for that elusive first job (or second or whatever).
Here are a few I've encountered
What would you do if you walked into a room and found a patient lying on the floor?
ABC's
Tell me about a time when you gave good customer service
(huh?) ok make something up.
Tell me about a time when you had a conflict.
conflict resolution answer
Ok post your own questions and answers too and also if you can find a good answer for the ones I've posted please jump in! If I can think of any more I will come back and post them. :)
Thanks everyone! We can really help each other out.:redbeathe
I think I would add get a blood sugar on that first one. Also, wanting to know more information about the patient
Here are some more
Which of your strengths and skills have most helped you succeed at work, home or school?
Required
Which of your weaknesses have most limited your ability to succeed at work, home or school?
Describe your ideal job.
I actually had no questions for two interviews. The first, they knew they were already hiring me, the second, they knew they were not.
I think this is a great topic that can help us all and I'm sure there are posters who can remember some questions and can post them here.
I'm not giving up until I get some answers.
Thanks for any replies.

How would your instructors describe you.
Tell me how you handled a difficult patient (personality/actions of)
Why did you decide to go into nursing.
If I spoke to your instructors or employers what would they tell me about you.
Did you bring a copy of your transcripts for us.
Tell me a story of when you had to critically think (clinical situation)
Have you ever left a job without giving the employer 2 weeks notice.
What would your instructors/employers tell me about your attendance record.
Have you ever been employed for these hours previously (pms/noc).

here were some of the ones I got last week:
describe the most challenging pt you've cared for
give an example of a time you turned a negative situation into a positive one
why should we hire you?
give an example of a time when you made a decision without consulting with your supervisor first
how have you seen the values of our hospital in action, and how would you contribute to the values of the hospital?
