I will be starting my MSN program one week from today and I am so excited!!!! I will be in an acute/critical care NP program and I'm starting by taking an elective course first-Advanced Practice Oncology Nursing. I am sooooo excited that I went to the bookstore today to look for my books (not in yet :( so I bought bumper stickers for my car with the school's name and logo on it. :) Am I the biggest geek or what?! :)

I'll be starting my ACNP program in September and can hardly wait! I just went online and ordered my uniforms and BP cuff (my school's uniform consists of teal scrubs with an iron-on school patch, white shoes, and a white lab coat--not a bad uniform at all!). Don't know what books I need yet, so holding off on that. So no, you're not the only one who's getting a bit excited!

I'm excited and I'm not even starting grad school.

I'm exited about it, but I must admit a little concerned about burning out! I have just a short short break ( 1 month) after I finish an accelerated BSN program so I am feeling tired just now.

However, I am literally counting down the days until I begin my graduate program. I have been waiting years to pursue this degree specifically, and to be able to concentrate on this particular material is going to be such a joy for me!

And while I don't have the bumper sticker, I DO have the sweatshirt, and yes, I wear it! :)

I'm excited too! I start in the fall, but I'm leaving my current job at the end of next week (!!) to finish up my prereqs over the summer. Scared to lose my income and go back to a student lifestyle, but so excited to learn all the information and skills that I will need to be of service and get my life going in the direction I feel I was meant to go!

I'm excited and scare at the same time. I graduated in December of 2005 and now about to start MSN in nursing education. Should I waited longer?....I don't know....

i'm more scared than excited :(

I know, I usually am nervous too until I actually get to the first class, meet the profs, see the syllabus, and then finally know what to expect.....only then do I feel like I can calm down a bit. I cannot believe after talking about nursing grad school for so long that I actually start on Tuesday!! :) Hopefully I will stay this happy even when I'm elbow high in homework, right?

Hey lilboboxox, which type of program are you attending? do you start in the fall?

hey christvs,

i'll be attending university of pennsylvania full-time this fall; following the family nurse practitioner track. i'm terrified.

i'm a senior right now who will be graduating with my BSN in exactly a week. i had an awesome externship but obviously no working RN experience besides my clinicals as a BSN student. i was told by my dean, my academic advisor and upenn themselves that prior working experience "will not matter that much" in terms of how well i'd do in the program. but knowing i'd be in classes with nurses with years and years of experiences scares me to no ends!

christine,

best of luck! i'm sure you'll do great! a positive attitude is a great asset. :)

which school are you attending? by philly perhaps? :)
