Possibly moving to AURORA, CO!! Please respond :)

U.S.A. Colorado

Hi everyone!!! I'm in SC right now, but we might make the move over to Aurora (I see that's near Denver) in 6months to a year from now. I have some questions if anyone could answer :) I'm a newer nurse, started a job in September 2010.

What is the Aurora area like (if you live there, been there)?

Is it crowded?

How is the job market?

What is the pay like? (starting out at my hospital is just less than $19/hr).

I do NOT like beside nursing and would like a school nurse, clinic, or other job in a hospital that is more m-f 8 hours. What are the options there as far as hospitals, clinics, etc?

What are some good neighborhoods in the area?

What are the housing prices like?

Where do you work and why do you like it or dislike it?

Any other input would be great!!! :)

My fiancee is at buckley AFB now! I dont think Aurora is horrible. I am a new nurse and trying to find a job out there now. Which is difficult but def possible. We have looked at many apartments out there and found some really nice ones. if you need any help let me know. I dont no if you are looking for apts or a house but anything I can help you with just say so!!

We are probably looking for homes to buy, unless we can't sell our home here. Then we'll rent something. So how new of a nurse are you, no experience yet? Are you trying to get into the hospitals? I hope you find a job :) how long have you been looking?

I graduated in Dec and have 3 months of med surg experience and have an interview next tues!!!!!

Cool!! Where at, what floor?

Why do you only have 3 months exp on med/surg.. didn't like it or did you move? Sorry so nosy :p I'm not a med/surg fan, so that's why I'm asking. That's what floor I'm on now.

I grew up in aurora, there are some nice areas, definatly the areas around the hospitals and base stay away from! I'd go anywhere south of parker and I225. if you want to be north but close, green valley ranch is a nice area too, its north east of the base. cherry creek schools are the best in the state
