Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello all,
I am nearing the end of the semester and is getting ready to apply into multiple nursing programs [Cal states] this year.
I have all A's except a B in Chem and my only concern is my current class anatomy which I MAY receive a C in [or I might end with a B].
I'm planning to retake my TEAs test but my first attempt is 84%.
Assuming I end up with a C in anatomy, will I be able to get into any nursing programs?
Thanks in advance.

It would most likely get you in at my old school, but wouldn't in my current one. It really depends on how competitive the area and your school is. Do your darndest to get a B in AP and you'll likely be golden in most places.

Cal States are extremely competitive. Most students have A's on their Anatomy, Physio, and Micro to get in.
TEAS is also very important. Students to be considered competitive must average around 87~91%.
Not to discourage you though, just being realistic. If you get a C on your anatomy, your chances of getting into a CalState is pretty slim.
If ever you get in, you most likely will end up as an alternate. If you still have the chance to drop your Anatomy with a W, that's actually better than a C or F.

you might ask your advisor what the range was for students in the past.
personally, if I cannot get into the local BSN program (i'd be on the bottom of the accepted spectrum), I'm going to apply for the ADN. The community college program requires C or better in prerequisites and at least a 64% on TEAS -- but it's a lottery. I scored 84% on the TEAS and I've got all A's but a C+ in Micro and Gen Chem but I'm glad to have the ADN plan B option... I'll then do the ADN to BSN.

Hi!
You should look at the points (for the impaction score) the different cal states allocate for experience/volunteering/speaking another language. Those also count towards your admission.
Good luck!

A B average on your core Bios is good enough for every program out there, your English 1A grade is a CRITICAL component they look at. They are tired of students who cannot communicate well. And then there is your overall GPA.
DO NOT RETAKE A CORE BIO unless you get a D or F! You lose points big time if you repeat a core bio (Micro, Anatomy, Physio). I have a good friend with C's in all her bios, an A in English, and a low-average GPA. She got her acceptance letter last week from a very well regarded ADN program. She'll be able to do the concurrent C-Post BSN at a CSU, which will actually put her ahead of CSU nursing students.
Please meet with a counselor, and get good info-I cannot BEGIN to tell you all the misinformation I heard over the years about all this. Finally found a really terrific counselor and stuck with her. My school does a drop-in only for counselors, so most pepple just see three next available one. I wait for mine. Takes longer sometimes, but her info is golden. Not all counselors are created equal, so meet more than one if need be.
I really cannot stress enough how much misinformation there is, even from what seemed like well-informed students and instructors. It's YOUR education and future, don't accept second-hand info to make these important decisions. That's my two cents anyway! Good luck to you.
