I took my CLNC test via computer yesterday and passed. Yay! I took the home study course, found it to be very informational. I am looking forward to starting a new career.

Thanks to all of you; I won't be going in March; Just sold our house today, so will be adjusting to new home. I just ordered one of Vicki's marketing items off the internet today. I'm nervous about networking; there was a lawyer at my mother in law's Christmas tea, and my husband was encouraging me to introduce myself, but I chickened out.

Here's a little hint. Next time ask someone else to introduce you. It makes it easier for you. And it is a kind of endorsement by the person introducing you. If your hubby did not personally know the attorney you might have asked the hostest to introduce you. Being her daughter-in-law certaintly would not hurt.

No need to talk shop or "sell" right off. Use small talk. It this case this was an event put on by your relative, that is fuel enough for plenty of small talk.

Here is another hint. when ever you are at an event pretend you are the hostess. It is amazing what this pretending can do for very shy people. It forces you out of your shell, because a hostess job is to make others comfortable.

Next time pretend you are helping your mother-in-law host this event. Here is something else. I know at least one sucessful trial lawyer who admits to being shy himself. Really they are humanbeings, as imperfect as you or I with the same fears and foibles.

Pretend your job is to put him at ease and make him comfortable. I have discovered that the most intimidating people are that way because they are insecure insome way themselves. (really) Usually they are very shy people underneith.

hi genevieve...do u have any tips on taking the VIP CLNC COMPUTER exams...i did not pass the VIM 6 DAY SEMINAR held in MAY 2007..i purchased only the basic due to financial constraints and the much info drained me out...i have upgraged to VIP format now that i flunked... any advice greatly appreciated....
