Was just informed I tested positive for alcohol. I knew I was as I relapsed in February. They took my license. Go before the board in September. Anyone know what I should expect.
Wow! That is encouraging! I feel like you have to be perfect in this program (lol). Though I am just getting started with the treatment aspect and do not foresee any issues I'm glad that God forbid I was to make a mistake there is some hope that I'd be shown a little grace. I was originally in the program for mental health history but a year in I got arrested for sleeping in my car after going to the bar and now I have to go for treatment and be drug tested and my contract was extended for 9 months . I deserve it for doing something so stupid. Anyway thanks for sharing that! I have been reading all these posts trying to get as much information as possible.
Hi there. The same thing has happened to me. I have less than a year with my monitoring and I drank on Mother's Day. Got called on my positive test, I'm in California and the BON is giving me 5 days to tell my story. I currently have a great job and my supervisor is aware. I am hoping to extend probation and keep me in it, but I am fearing the worst like suspension or even revocation. Can you tell me how long it took for the BON to give you a decision? Did they suspend you then give back your license? I AM SO ANXIOUS. Any feedback will greatly help. Thank you. Feel free to message me pls if you want.
I never was in probation. I would be if I went back to Cali. I was in diversion
if you admit to drinking you could be sent to rehab. I never drank when I had a positive and was made to go to rehab
they could suspend your license until they here from the brn. Then they usually extend your probation
Hi there, I am in a similar situation. I was wondering if you told the BON you relapsed or did you wait until you got a positive test and they called you? I have 5 days to write a letter to explain myself and write a plan of action. The worst scenario is revoking my license. This is my first violation in my file and it was a big one. I chose to drink 2 years into my contract Any feedback is encouraging! I am in CA. Feel free to read my post. Thanks

So I received my letter from the board saying I have broken my agreement and I can not practice nursing at this time. I knew the letter was coming but it still saddens me to receive it. I'm really trying to stay positive but it's hard. I keep playing that single moment back in my head and I don't understand how I could let it happen. I wonder what is to come !
