I'm hearing that the Portland market for RNs is extremely tight. Is this true?

Without prior experience, yes. If you have experience, it's pretty easy.
Great, thanks for the reply. Yup, I have 2.5 years of experience in NICU and Mother/Baby. I was thinking of traveling nursing up there at first since I don't really know much about the area. Would you have any recommendations for good places to work? Thanks!

I’ve heard great things about Legacy. People seem to like Kaiser as well. Providence is doing interesting things in Women’s Health (hospital supplied doulas, and they seem to have a huge focus on lactation).
There’re so many options that you might as well travel between them for a while. One of my L&D coworkers did that for a couple years as she found it was so lucrative and eventually settled at her favorite hospital.

Legacy/Randall Children is a really nice NICU but not sure they will be looking to hire. Lost OHP contract so volume is way down and hours are being cut in NICU/PICU
