Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone is planning to apply to PSC's nursing program this fall (2016) and what TEAS score and GPA your applying with!
I don't think that the advisor meant any harm by suggesting the LPN program. I applied for the RN last year and didn't get in so at the last minute I applied for the LPN program at Ridge CC, which was suggested to me by my advisor also. I graduate in 3 weeks and retook my TEAS about 2 months ago and scored 11 points higher than my previous tries. I applied yesterday for the generic program, I feel it will be a better fit for me, plus I'll be ahead of the game. As a backup I would suggest looking into the LPN program. It has been a killer and the next 3 weeks are promised to be even harder, but it's been so worth it. Good luck with whatever decisions you make!
I used the study guide and the practice tests....wasted $100. For me, it didn't help. There is an app for the teas, it's called teas mastery...best investment ever. The night before I went through the entire practice quiz. Some of the questions were almost exactly alike. Several of the science questions I received were on a subject we had just covered the day before in class, so that helped too. Don't over think a question, narrow down your answers by eliminating 2. This last time I took it at the WH campus, they have ear plugs...use them. This was my first time taking it that I wasn't listening to someone suck snot up their nose for 3 hours. Although I finished up my prerequisites the year before, I'm a 9th grade dropout and and in my 30's so if and when I ever learned most of that I had lost all knowledge of it. The app is the best thing. Several classmates in my LPN program have gotten it and agreed with me.

Your teas sounds pretty good to me, and your GPA is good. Is that your overall GPA or just the GPA for the prereqs? On the schools website, it says it goes by points and it tells you how to calculate them. They use both cumulative GPA and the prereq GPA. Good luck to you!!:)
