Nursing Students School Programs

Hello people! Since no one has begun a thread for those that have applied or intend on going to Polk State College beginning January 2016, let's use this as a forum for questions and meet other students prior to starting.

Good Luck! It sounds like you're in good shape! Hopefully we will be classmates in January. :D

Application submitted! Woooo. Now time to wait. They gave out a nice little information packet though.

I sent in my application yesterday too! I ended up making an 82 on my TEAS-V last Tuesday. So hopefully I make the cut.

KatieLorraine, I have no doubt that you will be accepted! Your TEAS score & GPA's are great!

Good luck to everyone! :)

Specializes in Oncology, Transferring to L&D.

Seems like all of us on this thread should be getting in by the scores we have! I'm glad there is a meeting October 9th. At least we have a set date to know if we are accepted or not! The anticipation is killing me, haha. :)

I just turned my application in today and now I just know this month will be the slowest of my life. Lol :nailbiting:

Yes, we ALL have a very good shot at getting in! :) & it definitely will be the slowest month of our lives.lol

It also sounds like we need to make sure that we have met every single requirement required for after acceptance or we can be removed from the program.

Which is no big deal, but it just makes me super cautious to not miss ANY details about what I need to get done! (If i get accepted that is!) lol

Hey everyone! I am also applying for spring term at PSC. I turn my application in tomorrow.:arghh: Can anyone tell me how you calculate your score? I'm a transfer student so I'm new to passport.

I turned in my application today! :nailbiting: I applied with a 112.75. I went to an advisor and he calculated it for me. Teas 76.7, overall gpa 3.39, & course gpa 3.82. Good luck to everyone! :)

Jazbazy11, to get your application score you have to calculate: TEAS-V Score + 5(Overall GPA) + 5(Program Pre-req GPA)

*If you have any previous degrees, those are worth points as well. Like, an Associates degree is 2 points, a Bachelor's is , and so on.

Oh! I see now where you got the advisor to calculate your score! 112.75 is pretty good!

EmgraceL, thanks for letting me know. My advisor said I was in a good position. He also told me less students apply in the spring than in the fall. Hopefully we all get in! If you don't mind me asking, how many total points did you apply with?
