Polk State College Fall 2017

Decided to start a thread for Polk State College Fall 2017 nursing hopefuls! I'm hoping we can use this post to share our stats and anxiety during the application process. So, I'll go first. My name is Megan, I have a Bachelors degree from USF. My TEAS score is an 84, overall GPA 3.25, and prerequisite is 3.75. I'm actually retaking the teas to try to get a better score next month. Let you know how that goes. Hoping to hear back from some of you.

If we get accepted when is the Mandatory meeting we have to go to?

I believe it was July 7... I could be wrong though

I don't think Passport updates your major until you've accepted the seat officially. It might wait as long as it takes to get all of the medical work completed. Sorry to disappoint, guys! Hopefully you find out this week for sure!

What does it say for you for Special Designators?

Special designators says "passing TEAS scores, nursing applicants future" but above that it says "program status: active, pgm admit status: Y". Hope that helps!

I had to delay my acceptance and I am planning to start in August. I got a letter the other day and it says that I have to notify them by June 19th if I am planning to enroll. I am not sure if this influences when they send out the letters. I understand waiting for the letters to go out is very stressful. I remember checking my mail box everyday even though I knew the letters were not mailed yet. I do believe that once you accept your spot in the program it will get updated in passport. Look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting on July 7th. Good luck!

So I'm thinking we'll be getting letters this Friday. I hope we do, another week of this madness and I might go crazy...anyone else feeling this way??

In the past they have gotten letters by this upcoming Friday or Saturday but them saying in the application package "mailed by June 23rd" has me scared we will have another week to wait.... or we can hope they said that to try and keep everyone from bothering them asking when letters will go out- :)
