Polk State College Fall 2020 Hopefuls

Published

Hello ? I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ADN nursing program at Polk State College. I know the application period isnt open until May, but I was wondering if anyone on here was planning to apply and what your points are? Best of luck to everyone!

Can someone let me know as soon as they’re able to sign up for classes and what the times are for pharmacology? I just completed orientation on Friday for Polk (somehow missed doing that) & I have a feeling it won’t have updated to allow me to sign up for classes until tomorrow ?

Thanks! I was able to sign up!

Is anyone having issues with their residency? I had a heart attack looking at my amount due for classes.

Specializes in Physical Therapist Asst..

I am still unable to register. I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) about it this AM and she replied at 8 am and said that the orientation hold shouldn't be there...it still is and I have yet to hear back from anyone.

Also, once you register, is payment due immediately? They have me classified as out of state as an error and it has yet to be corrected.

I bet...even in-state is higher than usual. In-state is usually $111 per credit hour. NUR 1051 is a 9 credit class, but it's $1306 for that class alone??

LOL it told me that my amount due was over $5000 so I immediately knew it was wrong. Financial Aid told me to contact the registrar’s office so I’m waiting for them to get back to me.

WOW!! That's closer to the grand total for the program's tuition!

Yeah, I looked at the breakdown of prices and they’ve classified me as out of state. Not sure why, I submitted my residency stuff early June and it’s been marked as received.

The link to the course is being sent so we can all access the clinical request and hospital orientations ?

To our school email addresses?

Hey guys, I have the same problem with the tuition being out of state. I talked to financial aid and they said they’re working on it and we’ll hear back before this Friday with the corrected stuff. Also, for the orientation hold if u haven’t taken it, do it asap and then email an advisor asking them to take it off. That’s what I did and was able to register today.
