I was toodling around UT's SON website and found something pretty neat. They are going to start Podcasting some courses in the nursing programs and eventually start Podcasting all of them. I thought this was a pretty neat idea!! It would be pretty cool to be able to just download a lecture to your ipod after class, listen to in the car or wherever you happen to be chillin, and keep it cataloged with your music. Such a space saver!! No more mini tapes to keep up with or low batteries ruining your recordings in class. What do yall think?

AWesome idea!! I just bought a mini recorder that I can upload the lectures I tape to y pc and burn CD's. I wonder if I can upload to Ipod as well! That would be so awesome! I guess i better start fiddling with the thing and load the software and read those dreaded directions!
im sure u can if its saved in a typical format that iPods read. From what I know that is pretty much anything (mps,wma,wav....etc).

When I interviewed for the accelerated program at UT Houston the director asked me if I had a PDA and if it had mp3 capabilities. She said I could download all of the lectures in audio format as well as all of the lecture powerpoints if I had enough memory on my pda. I thought it was a good idea and would prevent me from having to keep up with all those tapes.

You'll really need to listen to all the lectures again even if you attended classes, especially Patho and Care. We're moving up. They use to tape most of the lecture and post it online in Blackboard and you have to sit at the computer to watch the lecture again if you need to. Sometime you can't FF or RV the video, so if you stop it, it goes back to the begining. It was painful for slow learner like me.

I already listen to nursing lectures by Margaret Maag (search through iTunes) via the iPod. It's a great way to reinforce learning. I hope this is the wave of the future. I record class lectures on my iPod and listen later as I review my notes. I'm also able to email these recordings to classmates who are interested.
Thank you allora!! I am downloading those lectures and more from Itunes and the best thing is they are all free!
I did a search for M Maag, then Nursing, then Anatomy and have found all sorts of neat things I want to listen to!!
I am now doing a search on education and am finding all sorts of neat topics to listen to!!

How cool!!! That is such a great idea about the IPOD broadcasting. Glad to hear that UT is keeping up with technology. :)
