PMHNP

Published

Can anyone help me find PMHNP pograms in the souheast. Specifically ones that have mosly long distance classes and of course on site clinicals. There are none in florida as most are placed on moratoriums, only one I found is Vanderbilt. Thank you everyone.

University of South Alabama does indeed have a PMHNP program. They will not admit you without 2 years psych experience. I've tried. :( They only require that you attend an orientation at the beginning of your clinical experience (1 time). Otherwise they require proctored finals during the clinical phase, which can be completed at a Sylvan Learning center.

Good luck!

p.s. The cost is about $344 per credit hour for about 48 hours, with other misc fees plus books. Quite reasonable if you ask me!

The U of Tenn PMHNP program is excellent but all on-ground except for one class, which is offered online.

RN007, I am waiting to hear back on my application for U of Tenn. I am nervous and excited. Any insight or advice about the program? Did you go full time or part time? I am a single mother of a toddler and am trying to figure out how to work, be a full time mommy, and go to school. How was the work load, clinicals, etc?

Yes, Florida right now has barely any PMHNP programs, dont really know what happened, USF and FIU both have moratoriums. I will try UA, thank you guys so much.

I just hope there will be none. There is really no need to have any PMHNP programs in Florida or Georgia. Both states do not not require that NPs practice within a specialty and NPs are not independent there. If they can't find PMHNP, they will grab PAs or FNPs. FNPs and PAs will take your jobs and salary.
