RN007, I am waiting to hear back on my application for U of Tenn. I am nervous and excited. Any insight or advice about the program? Did you go full time or part time? I am a single mother of a toddler and am trying to figure out how to work, be a full time mommy, and go to school. How was the work load, clinicals, etc?

Curious to know how it is going? I have been working acute care nursing for about 4 years now. I am a float so I work on just about every unit in the hospital except womans and children's units. I have found little satisfaction in my work, and have always had a soft spot in my heart for psych but have never excepted a pysch position.

I don't want to sound like I am only interested in money, but I have to ask. Is there a pay difference between the two?

Hi all! I am currently living in east Tennessee and am about to apply for a psychiatric mental health np program. I am looking for a little bit of input from others who have been in my shoes. For instance any advice to a new mental health student? I have about 4 years nursing experience but no mental health experience. Is that going to be a huge obstacle for me? What do you wish you had known when you started? And what is your job satisfaction level? Any information is welcomed.

I realize this thread is pretty old, but I am a nurse in East Tennessee and am curious to see if you guys ended up becoming PMHNPs. I am a nurse with 4 years experience. I work as a float nurse to 6 different units within one of the local hospitals, but I don't have any mental health experience. I emailed the enrollment coordinator today and this is the response I got. "We are in the accreditation process and expect full accreditation within the year." Misty Davis Online Enrollment Coordinator Enrollment Services So what are we to do... trust our time and money in them that they will be accredited or steer clear?

I just got accepted but didn't realize they weren't accredited! And advice on what to do?!?!?

How long did it take from the time you sent your forms in. Just curious because I have been not so patiently waiting for 5 weeks.

Just wonder if you got your license yet. I am waiting for mine and its been 5 weeks. I was just wondering how long it has been taking.
