Hello fellow NPs,
I hold an RN license in both NJ and NY. I'm 4 months away from finishing my RN-BSN with Chamberlain online. Need some clarification in order to help me make my decision.
1) Eligibility to both schools? Ive read in other posts that if you don't live in Boston you cannot attend either programs:down: is this true?
2)Which school do you recommend and why?
3) Provide preceptors? or no?
4) Require onsite clinicals? Is it really all online?
5) Any extra info you would like to share
Thanks in advance! any comments or info is greatly appreciated.
Which program did you choose? I applied to several- USC Columbia, SC; USI- and got totally screwed by them before classes got midway. GRU, USA, and Wilkes. I choose Cincinnati instead. I do not have a study partner as yet. When are you starting? I am starting summer 2016. Let me know if you are going to UC and I we can be study buddies. It really makes a difference especially when your family cannot understand what you are doing and cant quiz you either.
I ended up applying for several schools, got accepted to 3 and rejected by EKU. They wouldn't give me an explanation as to why I was rejected. I think i'm going to go ahead and start at Drexel it's a very respectable university and has a long history, and they state their ANCC pass rate is 100%.
Well, EKU has 100% pass rate on ANCC for the past 7 years or so....Also, it is ranked #18 in online Graduate Nursing programs by US News and World Report... It beat Georgetown, Drexel, Vanderbilt by a landslide....and many more...You need to be a good student to be successful--put a lot of time and effort in to the work...Self motivated and dedicated...It's not spoon fed by any way shape or means, but EKU has taught me a lot...I am in my second year and just started my clinicals....I loved my first year! We had some really involved and caring professors...Good lectures, live sessions on line...One professor, even scheduled an online session when we wanted clarification..She was AMAZING!!! NP Grad school is tough--it's also time consuming...I know it will be worth it in 15 months!!!
Hi! I just started the PMHNP program at EKU. I was wondering how you liked it? Was the research project hard? And how difficult was the comprehensive oral exam? Any advice about the program in general ?

No visits for EKU...I liked that, too...It wouldn't have bothered me to do campus site visits though. Not sure what you mean by asynchronous coursework--I think of that as more like logging in live at the same time as a live class at the brick and mortar? If that is the case, no. They tape their lectures and you can watch at your convenience. I think every school has their kinks, no doubt, but so far it has been mostly positive. They have 3 start dates per year which is super convenient. Give them a call, you might be pleased!
